[Hello Luceti, is the nice little ice storm distracting you from post-Valentine's woes? Don't worry, here's a grumpy marine asking questions to painfully reminds you all.]

Seeing as we're all stuck inside -- [Once again, an usually feminine voice from Smoker's journal account.] -- I've got a question for everyone affected by the event.

Are there normally lines you won't cross in relationships that the Malnosso seem to cross for you? Or do they seem to take those into consideration instead? Since they seem to know us pretty well, it begs the question whether they're using our weaknesses, or if it's completely random.

And if anyone needs help out there in the storm, let me know. This weather is good practice.

It's practice for the New World. And the weather in Loguetown was never that great to begin with.

I stalk you, but that's only your activities here. I don't know what you're talking about here!

The New World is the second half of the Grand Line, the weather is a lot more troublesome than just this.

And Loguetown is my home island. Where I grew up and was first stationed as a captain.

Ah, that makes sense. Didn't peg you for an Island guy, personally.

[Clearly he doesn't get it at all, and is just trying to save face.]

My whole world is all islands.

[Wait. What?]

Geographically, that makes no sense. I'm gonna write that off as an 'other world' thing.

Well, mostly ocean, but what land there is, is all islands. The Red Line is the closes thing we have to a continent, and it's more like a bunch of islands smashed into each other to create a long line circling the world.

You don't happen to have any books, history documents, science reports, or maps around, do you?

[justicereigns]

The world isn't all mapped yet.

There are a few things from my world in the library, but the history is... lacking.

[Given there's an entire century the government banned everyone from learning about....]

[That doesn't bode well to the thief's ears, and he's not politically minded at all!]

Dude. That ain't right, the history thing and the map thing. I'll go diving through the books though. Once the storm passes.

[Annoyed (cute) growl.]

I'm not going to tell you to talk to pirates. [But some of them have been in the New World and could tell Lupin more things. So he hopes Lupin can piece that out without Smoker actually suggesting such a thing; just by saying he won't suggest it.]

The history is lacking because our world isn't as developed as some of the others. People are a bit more busy dealing with seakings and pirates than writing down the events of the past. There was a ... historian [He makes the word sound so bitter and sarcastic, you'd almost think he hated historians] from our world here, but she left already. Again. I know quite a bit of it, though it's harder without my personal bookshelves.

[Ask him specific questions, and he can be a bigger wealth of knowledge than the pirates who don't even have a problem with revealing things that are relatively secret in their world.]

[Whoa--angry torrent of words there! Lupin's wraps his mind around all of this, thinking. Where to begin?]

I'm just trying to piece all of this together, really. Our worlds are pretty different overall--piracy on the high seas ended over 200 years ago in mine, for example. We also don't have fruits that give powers, seastone, or a world geography dominated by islands. It's hard figuring out where to begin.

Is my world your first experience here with other worlds?

They've been pretty similar to my own, the one's I've talked about...except for the fact that I'm fiction. Apparently my grandfather has novels written about his adventures in other worlds, and apparently there's an anime about me somewhere.

"Anime"? I think I've heard that word before.

Cartoons, basically. Animation, and not always for kids.

[justicereigns]

[Blank stare.]

Right well.... I have nothing to say to that. [WHOOOSH.] We mostly just have stage theater in my world.

[Equally perturbed stare. This...was getting nowhere.]

Yeah. Uh...I got nothing. [That's a lie--he has a ton of questions, actually.]

You said that there was actual some science to your powers?

[justicereigns]

Correct. [A head nod.] And more done every day. How Blackbeard managed-- [Grinds teeth on his cigars. It was undoubtedly going to become trouble; that Blackbeard found a way to instantly get someone's devil fruit when they died. Not to mention managed to eat two when normal such a thing would make a devil fruit user explode.]

What would you like to know?

Everything. All I know is that its fruit that gives powers, really.

There's a Blackbeard in your world too? Funny~

They're also a curse.

Yes. I looked up other commonly named pirates, There are quite a few that seem to be same-named throughout several words. Edward England is like Edward Newgate or Whitebeard in my world. There's also a Kidd, Drake, Roronoa [Japanese version of the French pirate: L'olonnais -- Lupin should be able to identify that being French and very familiar with the whole Japanese versions of things] and so forth. Doesn't seem there are any pirates named Monkey in the other worlds though. Or revolutionaries.

[Info geek that's fluent in multiple languages--of course Lupin gets it!]

Yeah, those are all familiar names, though I was having more fun looking into family history and London's criminal workings than pirates, unfortunately. No, Monkey doesn't ring any bells...and revolutionaries usually take different methods.

Anyway, the fruits are cursed? I thought you said that there was documented science associated with them.
