[voice] A stormy question

[Hello Luceti, is the nice little ice storm distracting you from post-Valentine's woes? Don't worry, here's a grumpy marine asking questions to painfully reminds you all.]

Seeing as we're all stuck inside -- [Once again, an usually feminine voice from Smoker's journal account.] -- I've got a question for everyone affected by the event.

Are there normally lines you won't cross in relationships that the Malnosso seem to cross for you? Or do they seem to take those into consideration instead? Since they seem to know us pretty well, it begs the question whether they're using our weaknesses, or if it's completely random.

And if anyone needs help out there in the storm, let me know. This weather is good practice.

[ooc: and feel free to threadjump like the dickens. It might be the only time Smoker keeps quieter than not, seeing as he's a girl now.]

JOINT THREAD WITH DON!! [video]

Oh hey! Cap'! I found someone you were looking for!

[The camera feed tilts and wobbles as Lupin arranges a proper set up--and drags a turtle onscreen. The thief is grinning, proudly.]
i_speak_softly: (Ooh me I know)

Wheeeee! [video]

[Don waves back - he's not really sure what's going on, but Lupin seems excited about it, so it must be okay.]

[Lupin, disregarding cameras completely, leans in toward Donatello to whisper not so discreetly.]

Donatello. That's Cap'. Captain Smoker--remember?

He's here in Community House 5--we're marathoning a bunch of movies. He seems...lethargic? Most reptiley types aren't that active in the winter normally--does this have anything to do with that?
i_speak_softly: (Explaining in smaller words)

[personal profile] i_speak_softly 2012-02-24 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
[GUYS HE CAN HEAR YOU.]

I don't use it in the winter.

Wait wait--

What's this about Donatello and Robbie?

[He has an inkling, but it's hard to tell with a lethargic Don and Robert's social quirks...]

[IGNORING SUGGESTION]

Don~ What's this about you and Robbie?

[video] 1/more than 1

Because it throws off the... the...
i_speak_softly: (I forgot)

[personal profile] i_speak_softly 2012-02-24 01:21 pm (UTC)(link)
The thing. I can't remember the name. But it's not good.

And Robert is my, um...
i_speak_softly: (Geez I'm sorry)

[video] it was 3!

I don't know; ask him.

[He caught the subtext--he's just gonna play dumb. It's not the nature of the relationship that makes him turn his head, it's the other nature of it.

He's just discreet enough to not mention that cross-species liaisons are generally looked down upon in his world.

Pardon him as he slips into French:]

Pas compris.
i_speak_softly: (I'm gonna go over there now.)

[personal profile] i_speak_softly 2012-02-24 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[Don hasn't been shielded against very often; it's kind of jarring.]

Sort of, but... [An enlarging gesture.] More than that.

[He glances at the confused Frenchman.] Should I go find him?
redjacketthief: @ starkxravingxmad (casual-- staring contest)

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-02-25 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
You understood, but Cap' didn't? Huh~

'compris' as in 'I understand.' Add a 'pas' to make that negative--it's actually a shortened form. 'N'est pas.'

Subject pronoun 'je' makes 'je'ne pas compris,' but that's too long. So. 'Pas compris.'

It's French. My native language, though I can speak alot~

And don't worry, Don. He's still here, right? I'll hunt him down unless Cap' here feels like sparing me the effort.

[personal profile] i_speak_softly 2012-02-25 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
[Lupin, don't talk grammar at Don. He doesn't get it even when he isn't winter-brained.]

He's in the other room...
redjacketthief: (he's a nice man)

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-02-25 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
I'll ask him later then, Don. [This whole thing is so confusing~]

And Cap'? You found Maurice's works here? That's almost a surprise--it's been a while since I read them myself! [Yup. He never knew his grandfather. The man wasn't much of a family man.] I'll need to go hunt them down~

Why would you want to know about my grandfather anyway? I'm the Best Thief of the Century! [Barely beating his grandfather, and discounting the things he would never be able to beat his grandfather at.

Outwitting Sherlock Holmes, for one. Setting himself up to run the entire French Government for another.]
i_speak_softly: (*friendly smile*)

[personal profile] i_speak_softly 2012-02-25 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
I'm fine. It's supposed to happen.

[He turns to Lupin again, curiously.] There are books about your grandfather?
redjacketthief: (whine)

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-02-25 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
So this lethargy thing is normal then? Huh.

Need an electric blanket?

...and yeah, there are. Like the great Sherlock Holmes' friend Dr. Watson wrote down their adventures, my grandfather, the man I'm named after, would ocassionally regale his friend Maurice with stories.

He was the head of the largest criminal organization in France, but he didn't have too many personal friends, I guess. Regardless of the reason, these stories got published one way or another, and granddad always did like publicity...

It's funny though. Apparently my grandfather's adventures are fiction in some places. That probably means that Sherlock Holmes is also fiction...

I can sympathize a little with Luke and Obi-Wan, thinking about all this.
