Once there was a AWESOME Marine who took a CUTE PINK MAN-LADY and a SERIOUS, REBELLIOUS AND ANNOYINGLY GRUMPY-GREENHORN under his wing. The Greenhorn and the AWESOME Marine got into lots of fist fights and the Greenhorn always found something to be mad about with the AWESOME Marine even after he apologized. After rearing a child and two grandchildren of his own, the AWESOME marine decided to try a trick, which is send the Greenhorn off on long dangerous missions alone, where he can think about things and usually when he came back, he was more willing to accept the apologies from the AWESOME Marine and was a bit more agreeable.
In essence, Idiot son. Time away gives him time to sort out what his feelings are, and if he's still mad at you then, then, well. I'll punch him a few times. Remember, Greyhorn. You're my adopted son, I care about you, but sometimes, Papa Garp knows best.
