I don't know what to make of this place. It's got moments of dead quiet and then-- [Cut off by a sudden stampede. Bears and bulls go running by and Smoker just dodges out of the way and climbs onto some high rocks and lets the laptop camera take it in. And then there's more of the stampede with men in business suits carrying briefcases and running desperately out of breath chasing the bulls and bears.] This is completely nuts... shit wait for it. [And then they all come running back again in the other direction they originally came from, the businessman running away from the rampaging bulls and bears.]

[Waits for the dust to settle and sighs.] So I guess the bulls are supposed to be on the stock exchange? In exchange for money or bears I don't know. But apparently something happened and it's all gone to hell. And anytime I lasso those men in suits away from their herd they just babble about needing to chase the bears and bulls and "dollar signs." I have no freaking clue what a dollar is supposed to be. Unless they use sand dollars for currency? I guess I could go dig some up to try to bribe one of them for information.

This is ridiculous. If this is supposed to be a punishment Sengoku, you made your goddamn point. Can I have a real assignment? They don't even have a boss to talk to. Tch. Who the hell wears a tux to deal with bulls? Stupid...

[Walks off back to shore and in the background the stampede starts up again.]

I made a noncommittal noise because I didn't want to talk about it anymore, because it doesn't matter. And you responded with - whether you want it to be or not - was a total non sequitur. If you had said, say, "They won't fire me because of my dedication to justice," I could have understood that. Instead, you fired off a seemingly random noun and deemed it sufficient. You might as well have said cornstalk or balloon or fish for all the sense that made in context.

Except Justice has to do with my job and you should know that. Balloons and cornstalks don't. So provided you have a longer memory than that of a guppy you should be able to remember two comments back. If not, there's a handy little "parent" button.

The sand dollars I dug up. And I'm going to use them as bribes as soon as I deal with Tsuzuki. Once again, call them sand fists or dead fossilized crustaceans, all that matters to me is what they do, which is hopefully get information from the only people on this island, however dumb they are.

Nothing you've said provides any evidence to support that that will work or makes any sense at all.

You just said that you're going to try to use "dead fossilized crustaceans" - incidentally, they're a type of sea urchin, and they're not fossilized, that's just what they look like when they die - to attempt to bribe a lot of men in suits chasing animals around.

I wouldn't advocate killing them; that makes even less sense, by a small margin. But if you feel that you need to bribe "the only people on the island" to find out if there are other people on the island that you're somehow unable to find for yourself, I fail to see how digging up sea urchins is going to help. I have to assume that they want money.

They're chasing bulls and bears around! And then BEING based by the bulls and bears themselves! THERE ARE BETTER WAYS TO GET MONEY!

And in any case, the leader of the island is either off in some cave I can't find without one of them, or the leader himself is chasing the animals.

Nevertheless, if they just wanted money, what makes you think I didn't already try berri? Now shut the hell up or offer something useful.

...I'm aware that there are. That much is apparent. My point is that sea urchins are not currency, and that if they used them for currency, they would probably be digging them up rather than running away from animals.

Well maybe they're chasing the bears and bulls for another reason and don't have time to dig up the sand dollars. Or maybe the ruler makes them do this and the only way out is to bribe him with sand dollars, but they're usually too tired to.
