Hey Ash, if you're reading this (otherwise I'll just bring it up next session) I'm thinking of picking up the pace of your training. You're coming along pretty well, but I should talk it over with your other coach, if just to make sure we don't overdo it. What do you think?

To any and all blacksmiths here; it's a long shot since there's no marines, do any of you know how to work with seastone? Anyone at all. If not, I still need a jitte made, but it will take a lot since it goes through more abuse than a lance and needs a tailored weight.

At least he doesn't seem any worse for having two at once.

Following the guidelines mentioned to the kid below, you think it's doable? It's fine if you can't.

It ain't too much different than makin' a big ass sai. For the weight? I'd say ya need some iron for that. Steel ain't gonna cut it.

Sounds about right on the sai.

Wouldn't iron be too brittle? I've had problems with the main piece breaking in the middle already.

Yeah, you're right. Maybe we gotta combine it with the steel, give it some strength. Either way they don't give us too much to work with. Sheet metal, mostly.

Tch. If you think you can do it, I'll try it. You guys need help filling orders or whatever? Barter system, right?

Eh, whatever. It's mostly somethin' to do for keepin' busy. I get paid in materials and bein' able to use the forge for my own stuff.

But back at home, I usta melt down scrap metal. We didn't have much in the way of materials.

Hm. That actually is a little reassuring. Usually the best in my world are the best at recycling materials too. Metal's too precious to just waste.

Do you know what's the deal with the guy who apparently thinks Ash is going to kill someone just for learning to fight?

Since you were teaching Ash before, I figure he might have approached you about it.

You can't be expectin' not to kill somebody if you're goin' into battle, but just trainin' it ain't like we're slaughterin' people for practice.

He's training to defend, not go to war.
