[voice] A stormy question

[Hello Luceti, is the nice little ice storm distracting you from post-Valentine's woes? Don't worry, here's a grumpy marine asking questions to painfully reminds you all.]

Seeing as we're all stuck inside -- [Once again, an usually feminine voice from Smoker's journal account.] -- I've got a question for everyone affected by the event.

Are there normally lines you won't cross in relationships that the Malnosso seem to cross for you? Or do they seem to take those into consideration instead? Since they seem to know us pretty well, it begs the question whether they're using our weaknesses, or if it's completely random.

And if anyone needs help out there in the storm, let me know. This weather is good practice.

[ooc: and feel free to threadjump like the dickens. It might be the only time Smoker keeps quieter than not, seeing as he's a girl now.]

[ Not when you're bros with Ginia's departed boyfriend! It just...made things so much more complicated. And Helios is still unsure as to whether to tell Ginia about this. ]

I assume so. You really can n-never tell when it comes to these things. Random people th-that you'd never even regard as having romantic feelings for, or even close people you know you shouldn't have such feelings for. People that if you did would make things infinitely more complicated.

[ A sigh. not to mention he can't have such feelings after said experiment ends...it's just a messy busy and he really should have left town before it hit. ]
I think they do it purely out of amusement.

[ To Helios they do. Especially when said person is like a brother and has a chance of coming back. He's still not sure how to explain the whole thing, but, that's a topic for another conversation hopefully someday in the future. ]

I-I believe for some people it happened between them and other people they were rather close with. I'm not sure if that helps at all. But then some people weren't affected at all. Random seems to be the best bet. Though in terms of patterns, if there are any, I haven't seen any to be honest. [ Hm. ]

Especially since some people get affected almost all the time and then sometimes don't.

Just this one? How come?

[ Helios is doing the same thing. ] Ah! Maybe you could...ask for people to respond anonymously? M-Maybe some people are just a bit...shy or a-awkward in answering such things.

Is that so? [ He sounds curious. ]

You are right. It-it hardly falls upon the people involved about what h-happened between people last week. But still... [ he can't help but feel slightly guilty over it. ]
folklorist: (I suppose that works)

I-I honestly don't know why they do this, but...I suppose it's for entertainment. [ Sigh. He really doesn't like to even say that but what else could be the motive? ]

Oh but you're absolutely right. This is hardly the worse they have done before. [ Sadly. ]

N-No it, it wasn't. It was just with...someone rather close. And I'm not sure if that's, ah, any better really.

B-Because! It's just...you've never seen someone that close before as, well, someone to be intimate with. A-And they might happen to have someone else they were close with that happened to be a very good friend of yours. But-but the goof friend has recently g-gone away for awhile. [ Or forever. ]

It-it just made things slightly awkward when everything went back to normal, is all.

I-I don't know. I'm not sure how-how anyone could comeback from such a thing. But the prospect is always there and it certainly hasn't kept people from dating or, or forming relationships and the like. [ There's other possibilities too, ones that worse. ] And if they do comeback and yet they don't...remember.

[ It's a dreary thought but one he's been contemplating and keeping to himself since Giles returned back home. ]

N-no you can't. It makes things...so very hard for people here. And yet...I wonder if they really expect us to, ah, not f-form such relationships with people here. Especially when they cause such...such experiments to occur.

[ More Malnossian humor, probably. ]
