[Hello Luceti, is the nice little ice storm distracting you from post-Valentine's woes? Don't worry, here's a grumpy marine asking questions to painfully reminds you all.]

Seeing as we're all stuck inside -- [Once again, an usually feminine voice from Smoker's journal account.] -- I've got a question for everyone affected by the event.

Are there normally lines you won't cross in relationships that the Malnosso seem to cross for you? Or do they seem to take those into consideration instead? Since they seem to know us pretty well, it begs the question whether they're using our weaknesses, or if it's completely random.

And if anyone needs help out there in the storm, let me know. This weather is good practice.

[ooc: and feel free to threadjump like the dickens. It might be the only time Smoker keeps quieter than not, seeing as he's a girl now.]

I think Ikki likes being read to personally.

If you want to read to other people organize a reading show through the journals, but leave me out of it. The promise was for us to talk to each other, you and me, you like reading so I don't mind listening to you, but it doesn't involve anyone else.

[ For a moment she actually gets a little more quiet, and almost a little more awkward -- she's steeling herself, really, since it's a bit more scary when he talks like that, even though it's one of her friends.. so it takes a little bit for her to speak up. ]

That's not what I mean. If you want to read to Smoker or whoever it is, do it. But don't go and invite people to our conversations. We're not a talk show for everyone to participate in, we're just two friends talking to each other.

[Did you hear that, Smoker? JUST TWO FRIENDS. And he's not happy if she only reads to him, because she's capable of just reading to him only ever from now on. He just doesn't want guests to their conversations and private times.]

It's okay Kotomi, I think Ikki really treasures those nighttime conversations as much as you do, all right? So I wouldn't want to detract from them. We can talk about books other times you're free.

Besides, my night hours are a lot different I'm sure.

[ She's gone a little quiet now though - even if it's not that strange for her. ]

Tsk... Kotomi, he's just... [Lights up cigars. He can't let his best friend shoot himself in the foot this stupidly. Ikki would do the same for Smoker if it was reversed, right?]

Have you ever had only one copy of a book that you couldn't share with anyone else because you don't know that they would take care of it with the same respect and attention it deserves? And it's the only one, so if something happened to it, it'd be lost forever. So sharing it would be very difficult because it's that precious. Something like that?

[ Thinking about the example actually completely distracts her from the original topic - seriously, she doesn't even see how it's a metaphor for the situation, yet she's thinking about it deeply. ]

I get that.. It would be really sad if something happened to that book, since if it would be ruined it would be really, really sad since there wouldn't be any other one of it left.. So you have to make sure it'll be okay no matter what.

[He's not sure if he's lucky she doesn't get it's a metaphor or not. Anyway, maybe he should just retire from this whole conversation. There's a low hum on his part but only that, maybe if he remains silent long enough they will forget he was there to begin with.]

Well, I'm willing to bet my remaining stash of cigars that Ikki sees you like that book. Got it? So I'm not going to dent the pages, I'll just let him protect it.

We're still friends though, but don't underestimate how precious you are.

I'm.. the book to Ikki-kun..? [ It's really difficult to tell whether Kotomi understands or not, really. She's a genius girl but only where it comes down to learning stuff from books, social interactions are just completely foreign for her.. ]
