ooc: OPEN LOG karaoke fun come join if you're inclined

Who: Anyone who feels like stopping by + Smoker
Where: Karaoke Bar on Shambun Island (Rinali's fall island) If you know OP canon songs, feel free to use them or drinking songs but I think it's safe to assume this bar gets other-world patrons so our world songs are a go for IC.
Why: Smoker is stuck waiting for an informant and I enjoy torturing him~ Also come sing karaoke at him. It's fun. I promise.
When: Sometime between August 30th and when he gets chibi'ed.
Rating: Well it's open so I'll edit if something happens. Feel free to do NC17 stuff with each other or something idek. I'll just stalk.



Smoker threw his head back on the edge of the red cushion of the booth seating, a small cloud of smoke hovering above his head in his irritation. Some idiot was blaring Jolly Roger and attempting to croon despite the drunk stupor giving the moron the wrong notes. Great. Just what he needed. His favorite song in the world. And here he'd been appreciating that he hadn't heard it since leaving Loguetown. So much for that, this was the 5th time tonight in the last three hours. If the marine informant didn't show up soon Captain Commodore Smoker was going to break some legs. In a more literal than luck sense.

"Another rum honey?" the blonde waitress asked with a soft smile despite the proximity to a No-Smoking area.

"Yeah that's fine, thanks," the marine growled. Drinking alone was fine with him but there wasn't much to remove the irritation of the singing other than alcohol. Probably why they HAD the karaoke at the bar. Great. He rubbed his temples and prayed for a change of pace in music selection.

"Maya Fey, Pearly's cousin!" She held out a hand, beaming. "Thanks for looking out for her, by the way!"

The tall marine blinked but shook her hand nonetheless, "Looking out for her?" he echoed uncertainly. "Mr. Edgeworth and Wright primarily do that."

"Oh, yeah, but just now you were, huh?" Maya leaned her hands on the table, rocking on her feet. "D'ya wanna come join us? Pearly would love it if you sang with her!"

"I just know her. Seemed a strange place for a kid so as long as she's got adults with her." Smoker just barely refrained from twitching at the suggestion. "I really don't sing," he grumbled trying not to be too harsh with it.

Maya tilted her head, considering. "Okay, okay, I won't push it. But--" She had a vague feeling that Smoker was the sort of man who held others at a professional distance, but he'd been kind to Pearl, so... it wouldn't hurt to just ask, right? "--D'ya wanna join us for drinks, at least?"

Smoker tilted his head. She was clearly trying hard to be friendly but he was admittedly almost confused as to why. "I'm waiting for someone," he explained shortly. "But thanks. I'll let you know if they don't show. Starting to look like they won't," sighed Smoker.

"Aw, man, that sucks," Maya sympathized. "Well, at least you'll have company for sure with us! I'll save a spot for you, just in case!" With a friendly wink, the young medium turned and trotted off to rejoin her friends, throwing one last cheerful wave over her shoulder as she made her way across the room.

"Right," Smoker nodded. "Have fun." He wasn't sure what else to say. She seemed to be enjoying herself and certainly nice enough. He'd keep it in mind for a less busy occasion. As it stood, this wasn't quite his usual scene and if he wasn't waiting for information, it still would be too loud for his tastes. Still nice of her offer.
