Goodbye Water 7

Just got word from Dock 1, Repairs on Lady Justice should be finished the 2nd of December so everyone finish up whatever you're doing here and get ready. I'm not delaying a second and NO ONE is staying behind.


Just got these Thursday.






Last round of mizu mizu candy on me. Nataku, Lavi Bookman, Allen, anyone else want some?

Oh and I picked up Happy the Cat. He's blue and has wings. It's difficult to miss him.

Nataku, Robin, we need to talk.

I've got some paperwork to fill out on events in St. Poplar but my door is open so you can come in for whatever. Don't make me need to close it for stupid reasons.

And on a final note. Promotion list came out a couple hours early. Guess who's on it.

I didn't know you couldn't read. Would you mind learning from Karen and others on the ship here? I can volunteer myself if you wish it but everyone including the cooks and doctors wouldn't mind teaching you I'm sure. And Robin believes it would work better if you had that much help in any case.

Because I spoke to her regarding just that. Robin and I don't get along the best but we do talk quite a bit. The books Bookman keeps bringing back? They're hers. I've known her longer than I've even known Karen.

I went and got starter books -- her suggestion. If you still want to take a look.

No kid the idea is that they teach you. They're picture books and then I could -- or someone else could if you don't want me around -- show you how to sound out the letters. That is how kids learn. Believe it or not, I learned once too.

And it's effective?

The most effective means, yes. It took me I think about a year with only half an hour a day? So depending how smart you are, three hours a day -- if you have that patience, should probably get you to learn it in a couple months, maybe sooner if you're highly motivated.

Then who will teach?

As I said, I can. Or I'm sure Karen would be willing if you ask her. On top of that I could ask Zenigata, Tashigi, Lavi, even Allen and Lady. Possibly Subaru when he comes around. And there's an entire crew of 200 marines. Discarding about 50 of them as poor teachers, the rest are still used to teaching rigging, sails, guns, swords and so forth to all the new recruits. Reading isn't that far a stretch.

You'll have to start telling me what genre you like. Fairy tales or stories about animals or adventures or fables or whatever. The more interested you are, the faster and easier it will go.

Well, the bulls, Lady's panda dog... I really wouldn't mind teaching you personally but if you'd prefer there's a flying cat who might be good at it. I'm not sure where to assign him but if you like him, I'm sure you'd get along. Couldn't hurt to meet him I guess.
