Smoker's marines "traditionally" have a Christmas party actual day/night of. Anyone on Lady Justice on Christmas Eve wakes up to it completely decorated in all things Christmasy, there's presents all over the place (gradually less as the day wears on) food, drinks, hot cocoa, all things festive. This year they're also throwing a surprise birthday party for Allen (blame Miranda) and between that, Smoker, Tashigi, and possibly other marines are going to be too busy to notice a couple of pirates running around (unless you poke them. Then all bets off.) SO FEEL FREE TO JOIN IN AND CRASH OR SHOW UP OR ANYTHING YOU WANT!!

They're stationed at Retwin Island to keep things peaceful during the tourist season and there's all kinds of super Christmasy/holiday things along the way. And some dreidels left over from Hanukkah in case anyone feels like playing. So eat, drink, be merry, get in trouble, go all out! Just have fun!

Allen laughed as Timcanpy did so, hand cupping to cradle him gently.
... Was it just Allen, or had he gotten bigger again?

"I... Thank you, Master. M-maybe I wasn't expecting a birthday present, so..."

[Sobby?]

He probably had. Something about Cross made him do that.

"Yeah, yeah. Just so you know, I've put a lock on some of his memories, so don't try digging too deep. Have you seen any wine around here?"

Allen resisted the urge to whip out a ruler.

"... I won't. Since new memories are coming to me... Wine, Master?" Allen thought for a moment, then brightened.

He pointed to some quaint corner table with red cloth.

"No, they were memories you'd never see anyway. My memories." Cross nodded and began to drift over to the corner table.

"Oh. Sorry, Master," he replied quickly.

Automatically dogging him, Allen followed over. He wondered if there was juice there.

"Though don't cheat by looking up memories on him that you haven't seen, either."

Cross picked up a bottle, looking over the label. Allen might find sparkling cider or something.

"I... I promise I won't, Master!" Allen couldn't really believe his own promise, though.

As Cross looked for some good wine, Allen wandered off to the other side of the circular table. He saw what he thought was water, and hastened to find a cup. All that Mitarashi Dango earlier made his throat feel a little sticky...

"Good."

This bottle is his now, and he's looking around for a glass. Meaning he's too busy to stop Allen, as if he'd even want to.

Allen nodded vacantly as he downed about two papercupfulls of "water".

... If it was "water", it was fucking alcoholic.

And Allen had drunk it too quickly, and noted the taste of the alcohol too late, and Allen had never drunk alcohol in his whole life ever.

And Cross only noticed after Allen had drunk his second cup.

"... Did you just drink that?" He asked, recognizing the bottle.

"Drink... What?" Allen asked, blinking.

"That bottle you're holding, that's vodka." Cross eyed Allen, careful to back up if he showed any signs of being sick.

Allen put - rather noisily - the bottle back onto the table, and looked at the paper cup in his other hand. The liquid looked clear enough.

"I don't think so."

So far, so normal.

Cross leaned forward just enough to pick up the bottle and give it a sniff. "No, that's definitely vodka." He grimaced, vodka never really was his cup of tea, or in this case alcohol, especially not stuff as strong as this.

"You feeling okay, brat?"

Allen threw his paper cup into some nearby temporary trashbag and missed by about fifteen centimetres, scowling.

He turned back and flapped a hand at Cross.
"Master, I am feeling fine. Please don't be an unperceiving idiot."

Of course, that last comment would tip any concern for Allen's health Cross might have been harboring straight out the window.

"... What did you just call me?"

Allen thought he was being terribly frank, but it felt liberating.

"Unperceiving idiot, sir."

Cross wastes no time in delivering a nice, hard smack to the side of Allen's head, looming over him in a menacing fashion.

"Never speak to your master that way, brat."

Allen landed hard against the floor, bouncing painfully.

His eyes closed for about two whole minutes before he rolled and... Puked.

Cross cringed, trying not to look. Especially after everything Allen had eaten...

"Going to behave now?"

Allen was kind of lucky the jacket he was wearing was an old, unwanted one from some nice senior Marine.

"I wasn't ev-" he staggered to a stand, before clutching at the table and landing on his knees again to puke a second round.

Taking a step back, very very glad he doesn't have to clean that.

"Wasn't what??"

Stumbles around CLOSER TO YOU CROSS CLOSER.

He coughed wetly and went, "I forgot...?"

Cross took another step back.

"... If you're not done throwing up then I'm going somewhere else until you are.

Throw up on me and I will murder you."

Allen stopped staggering around and leaned against some convenient wall.

"... I don't know when I'll be done. I feel... Kind of dizzy... Ahahaha....."

Then he wandered off in search for NORMAL water.
