Smoker's marines "traditionally" have a Christmas party actual day/night of. Anyone on Lady Justice on Christmas Eve wakes up to it completely decorated in all things Christmasy, there's presents all over the place (gradually less as the day wears on) food, drinks, hot cocoa, all things festive. This year they're also throwing a surprise birthday party for Allen (blame Miranda) and between that, Smoker, Tashigi, and possibly other marines are going to be too busy to notice a couple of pirates running around (unless you poke them. Then all bets off.) SO FEEL FREE TO JOIN IN AND CRASH OR SHOW UP OR ANYTHING YOU WANT!!

They're stationed at Retwin Island to keep things peaceful during the tourist season and there's all kinds of super Christmasy/holiday things along the way. And some dreidels left over from Hanukkah in case anyone feels like playing. So eat, drink, be merry, get in trouble, go all out! Just have fun!

Unsurprisingly, the inquisitive little creature has once again found his way out of Goemon's quarters and has took it upon himself to investigate the commotion. But he was almost immediately lead astray by the mingling scents of wonderful foods, left googly-eyed when he came across long tables lined with dozens of plates. A glazed roast, mashed potatoes, sumptuous sweets...

Clasping his hands in childish delight, Yoshi first attacked a plate of oranges without peeling the rind.

Miranda sighed. Sure, she was happy it was Christmas and Allen's birthday and all, but... another sigh. A gloved hand meanders over to an orange, only to have it pulled away at the last possible minute by some long red sticky thing. Dark eyes follow the thing and land on the little dinosaur happily scarfing down the fruit. Her head tilts nearly ninety degrees, complete with eyebrow quirked, as a quiet 'what on earth' escapes her lips. That... was something she had yet to see.

Startled by the sight of her reaching hand, Yoshi stumbled back like a toddler and landed on his tail. From the floor, he blinked up at her, scratching his chin contemplatively in a moment of deep concentration. He came to the quick conclusion that she was a decent person, and waved hello.

The Exorcist draws her hand up to her mouth, gasping a little at the sight of the little dinosaur falling over. As he blinks, she blinks, still not sure what to make of it. But as soon as the little one waves, she smiles a little, waving back. "Hi!"

As cheery as ever, he acknowledged her greeting with a "Yoshi~!" of glee, cocking his head much in the way she did as he gave her a look of appraisal. He was keen to learn of her name and attempted to communicate this idea by childishly pointing at her.

Miranda bites her lower lip so as to contain the squee of adorable-ness bubbling up her throat. And here she though she would never find lizards cute. Wait. It's pointing. At her? She also points to herself, trying to figure out what it wants. "...Me?"

He flaps his arms frantically in helpless inarticulacy, his gaze lifting ceilingward after a moment while he considered how to approach the game of charades. With a look of renewed hope dawning across his features, the dinosaur poked his chest pointedly with his index finger, introducing himself. "Yoshi!" He then expectantly pointed at her a second time, eagerly awaiting her response.

"Oh! That's your name!" And here she thought that was just a noise he made. Well, little did she know that Yoshi was very much like a Pokemon and could only say his name. Miranda pointed to herself again, and with a sheepish smile said, "Miranda".

Very pleased at having gotten his point across, Yoshi beamed with happiness and pride in equal measure before turning back towards one of the banquet tables and scarfing down a heap of grapes.

[I keep accidentally switching tenses, sorry.]

The woman giggles, covering her mouth with a dainty hand, and also turns back to table. My, with that appitite the little creature reminded her of Allen! Speaking of which, wow, there sure were a lot of mitarashi dangos here. Hm. Maybe eating one would't hurt...
