[ When did Adela get downstairs and into the area? Who knows, she's still in her pajamas and has bags under her eyes though - it's been another sleepless night for her, and these two aren't helping.

She really doesn't care if Tashigi sees it either, and without further adieu a couple of socket wrenches fly from their places on the shelves to fly just barely by both Ace's and Smoker's heads. It could be taken as her missing, but if the level of irritation on her expression is any indication it was more likely a warning, that an 'or else' is basically implied.

Better be aware of just how much metal is in that garage, boys. ]

[Flying metal or not, Smoker just growled and tackled Ace's shoulders, rolling him in a wrestling pinning move.]

[ Might want to think that Tashigi, because she seems surprised at Ace. She tenses, grip tightening on the crutch as she watches. He's... Out of control.

[ When she snaps out of it, it only takes Adela a moment to once again use her power, reaching out a hand and gesturing as the door slams shut behind them. She's looking away after that, frowning - unsure. It's possible it was in the heat of the moment but at the same time she just doesn't know just how she's supposed to take that. ]

We should leave them be, should we not...?

[ Apparently she's not allowed to be irritable over a night's lost sleep. ]

[Normally, she'd be jumping at the chance to help her Vice Admiral fight a notorious pirate.]

[This situation is not normal.]

[Between the... strange back and forth between Ace and Smoker and the fact that Adela looks almost hurt, it's clear where her priorities need to lie.]

We should. Those two don't seem like they'll listen to any sense right now.

[She sighs.]

[ 'Okay' might be a strong word though.

She sighs as well, shaking her head before making her way back up the stairs. She intends to go back to bed, though there is still plenty of time for Tashigi to stop her on the way. ]

[She hesitates for a moment, then goes to catch up, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder.]

Miss Adela?

I... I know we've just met, but I-

[She pauses, struggling with what she wants to say.]

You've had to watch after a grown man, and from the way it looks you've had to put up with far more than is reasonable. So... I want to help you, if there's ever any way I can.

[ It doesn't take much for Adela to stop, and the words take a moment to get taken in.

She's an even more wonderful person than Smoker made her seem, and Adela can't help smiling genuinely in spite of the whirl of confused feelings she's dealing with. ]

[But he gets it. After all, he wasn't going all out before. He'd turned his back on him even. And feeling humiliated by Ace enjoying the strangling, he'd purposely tried to humiliate him back.]

[it just pisses him off even more because he knows he went too far and he can't take it back, but also because it's always the same thing. And maybe it's too late for any of it after all.

But he can't do anything but scream and grow even hotter, fending off Smoker and wishing there was a way he could best him for good or lose for good]
