Smoker's return [Action / Video]

[The minute Smoker realizes he's back in Luceti, he gets his jitte. Like hell he's letting some pirate take it for a few months again. Then there's the basic things. A month's supply of cigars, and oh, isn't that nice of him, they even thought to get him a bunch of his own marine brand. They literally say marine on the little gold tabs, so surely no pirates would want to try them, right? Then it's off to get coffee, prowl around the general vicinity and head on home. As he's heading inside, the sheer amount of packages he's carrying jostles the journal open.]

Ikki, I have to thank you for the Cosmos-- Haki... [Annoyed growl. No Ikki. :| Figures. So he goes to open the journal for real and everyone can get a look at Smoker, two years later, no longer wearing his hair in ~~awesome~~ spikes, sunglasses, a giant scar, but still 100% Smoker.] Where the hell is Ikki? And how long have I been gone that he moved out? [He can tell Ikkk is still in Luceti, if not where, but what the hell man?] What's the date?

Right, to everyone else, I'm Vice Admiral Smoker. [Oh that's right, he uses his real title now. Watch out world.] As soon as I can, I'd like to get back into teaching jitte and kickboxing. Any old or new students, we'll meet at the barracks. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are open sessions, the other days can be scheduled for private hours or one on one sparring. If anyone spots a marine, let me know. Do not try to engage anyone from G5 in a regular conversation, they've earned their reputation as being pyromaniac psychos, just send them my way and I'll deal with them. [There is no affection to that. If anything "deal with them" sounds a little like "beat senseless and chain to a wall somewhere." Anyone want to laugh at him for his choice of command post?]

I assume we must be in a New Feather cycle, so welcome to Luceti. There are other people teaching forms of martial arts or filial magic, but unless the Drafts and missions have stopped -- which I doubt -- you'll want to take advantage of at least one form if you can.

Hm. Right. [Rubs his chin.] Though I promised Lupin I'd start his training tonight, he's been antsy for awhile.

[Smoker sucks at this whole romance and things.]

[Wow, Smoker. Nice one.

Grell sighs and slips the sunglasses back onto her head.]

Tomorrow then? I'll hand these - [She motions to the glasses] - back then. Your eyes are too pretty to go hiding them away, love.

Oh wait but --

[Flushes. He has no idea how to react. A compliment is startling, and then also, somehow he just totally failed his plan for a date, though it wasn't rejected either. Oh. All right then. So he nods.] Tomorrow then. Unless you still want help looking for a place?

Don't you have Monsieur Lupin to look after tonight?

Later. He can wait at least a little. It'll teach him patience. As long as it's not too long.

You know him? [So no one calls him "Monsieur" without meeting him first.]

He spoke to me when I first arrived. Monsieur Arsene Lupin III, yes? [Grell smirks.] From the sounds of it, his Record is one I wouldn't mind collecting.

[A pause and then a soft chuckle and shakes his head.]

Oi oi, don't cut him up too badly unless he does something to deserve it. Judging him now would be premature. He'd definitely only have misdeeds this far.

[Yup... Lupin trusts him with his life and this is how Smoker repays it, making him wait and telling his girlfriend "don't cut him up too badly."]

If you insist. If he's not on the List, I can't reap him anyway.

[She looks away, distinctly displeased at a certain thought.]

Not that I've come across the List here.

Well, no one dies in Luceti... or not permanently anyway.

So I have heard....It's that sort of unnaturalness that has likely brought me back. People shouldn't be allowed to cheat Death. It makes us very cross and incurs all sorts of paperwork I truly hate doing.

[Grins in amusement at her wrath.]

Paperwork is evil. So you're going to investigate the Malnosso?

Ugh, I knoooow, right? And yet Will is always talking about how I have to do this or do that and it's such a bother. Not that I mind when it's him telling me because his gaze is like a dagger to the heart, but-- [nfufu oh will~]

Yes, I suppose that is why I'm here. To get to the bottom of this "unnatural life" thing. I'm sure the Bureau shall want to know about it.

[... Arches an eyebrow.] Will?

Could be that. Maybe. [A shrug, Smoker sort of suspects it runs deeper, but he won't say so.] You might want to keep some sort of record though, since you can't remember, maybe you stumbled on something last time.

Mm, but that's more paperwork. [She sighs and twirls a loose strand of hair around one finger.] I suppose I'll have to, but I'm much better at the hands-on portion, if you know what I mean.

As for Will, he's my supervisor inasmuch as I have one, I suppose. We were in Academy together, but he's moved on to the boring things while I took center stage. [Aka, he's better at his job and moved up in the ranks while Grell is still enjoying slashing the hell out of everything.] Cold as ice, efficient, and a looker - not bad for a "boss" if I have to have one.

I do. It's something we have in common. [Tries to sneak his sunglasses back while she's playing with her hair >>]

Could be worse, I guess. So long as he gets the job done.

[Nope, movement out of the corner of her eye catches her attention and she turns back, putting a hand on the glasses.]

I rather enjoy having him over me-- [lololololol awful] --and you don't get these back until you carry out on your promise, love.

[Oh don't think he didn't catch that pun Grell. ALL the eyebrow arching.]

I see.

Then you'll have to forgive me for this, but it's been four months and close to an added two years. [Tugs her back in for another kiss... and to see how steady her resolve is about those glasses. YUP. Talk about other guys will she? >:|]

[LMAO Smoker, you possessive buttface. He should meet Will just to see how not a threat he is.]

[Whoa, okay, glasses are forgotten about in exchange for the kiss♥]

[Oh... he will.]

[And he's slightly smirking into the kiss, making it quite a bit more aggressive than before... and stealing back those glasses and slipping them into his back pocket for now.]

"Only?" It was still too long.

[Yup, not even noticing the glasses are gone. Nice sneak attack, Smoker.]

Mm...? Did you miss me that much in such a short time?

[A blink.]

Is that so surprising?

[Wrapping her arms up around Smoker's neck.]

I know I make quite the impression upon people, but normally it's one that has people running, not-- [She grins, sharklike teeth showing through] --this.

[Genuinely fond grin with a light blush.]

Well, we're two of a kind like that Red. I guess you remember me, but not why I fell for you.

It's all right, I'm sure you'll find more reasons.

I will say this though. I'm not one to run from death, and you hardly scare me.

[Though he does worry a little if she can't remember why he likes her, she won't remember why she likes him either. He's not gonna say that though. Nope.]

I already have a few reasons - that being one of them. Fearless men are the most exciting.

[Even if they tend to be heroes and get themselves killed. She remembers that he's made of smoke - indestructible basically - and that's also intriguing.]

Otherwise, I'm looking forward to you reminding me of all your good points, dearest. I'm sure it shall be the greatest of adventures.

[Gives a salute.]
