NOT waxing poetic

Fall rains always seem so cleansing even on filthy streets of pirate ports like Loguetown or Shambun. Still a pain in the ass to keep cigars lit in.

I'll be out all day. I've narrowed down most of the possible places for the pirates to be so now it's just a matter of smoking them out. Tashigi is in charge of getting the brig ready for any more prisoners but Rinali I expect you and Lady to do your part and help. Fiyero, you too. Job to do people, do it.

Leo I found something you might be interested in.

Karen...

Hn.

We should... This music box is for me? Not Tashigi, right?

There's a baseball diamond on the island but I still can't find the time to see it. I suppose it doesn't matter in this rain as it is. Almost makes me miss Loguetown except never that.

The only people you seem to trust are women. Because they're different, aren't they; they aren't brash, combative, machismo-driven trash who want nothing more out of life than power and glory and blood. They're soft and sweet and caring. Reliable. Strong, without resorting to hatred and violence. And you're drawn to that, because much as you try to be an upstanding member of society who does his part to give back, on the inside, you know you're no better than the rest of them. A punk. Full of rage and hungry for a fight. You do everything you can to channel it into positive outlets, finding little ways to suppress your aggression when you're tied down and surrounding yourself with young men who want to do good, not yet jaded, and with women whom you believe can love you for the vile creature you are - or for the man you want to be.

The problem is that you acknowledge it and think it's acceptable behavior.

First of all, it's faze. Second, it's all well and good that you've found yourself a positive outlet. The part that's ridiculous is that you squander your time and resources chasing after people you know for a first-hand, witnessed fact specifically do not deserve it. Ostensibly, you want to beat up and imprison someone who rescued you from a situation of dire peril because you think he needs the challenge, or because you're angry that he let you live. He doesn't need you, and the alternative is even more pathetic.

My friends are here, Commodore. That is why I stay. It has nothing to do with him. I enjoy myself here, and along the way, I help to train a new generation of pirate who will one day be your downfall. That is my justice.

Not everyone measures their worth in the length of time spent running over crooks on an ATV.

No one likes a classist, Commodore.

You have nothing to do by it except by convenient extension, I'm afraid. Sorry to disappoint.

It's a motorcycle with training wheels. Who cares?

Here's the part where it would benefit you to take a step back, examine the conversation, and ask yourself where I ever said that I care about morality.

Have you been talking to me all this time because you thought I had a sense of honor?

That's cute.

You're like a small, yappy dog that needs a good kick.

Really? More sleep? Not a boot thrown at me? You're not very good at this.
