Damn brass think they can tell me what to do. Tch. Finally got the orders clearing a ride over St. Poplar. Who here has been there before?

I can't take another minute in Water 7. If I don't find some pirates to hunt soon... Picking off Mello's attackers hardly counts as an appetizer.

I'm taking the sea train over and staying a couple days. No one but Tashigi has to come along but anyone who wants to should. Allen I know is coming. Karen? You still interested? Nataku too. Zenigata and Lady if you feel like it. And Lavi it's a good chance to see a new city. Did you get that information we talked about?

I think I need to get some breakfast. Anyone got recommendations or something? And some painkillers wouldn't go amiss.

No they're based in St. Poplar. I needed to get permission of all things to go after them. They used to do some legal slave trade and bounty hunting for the government but recently started delving into illegal arms and drug trafficking. I would have taken off earlier but I needed the case file. Fucking brass.

I believe in justice, sir, but I think I've lost a little faith in humanity, in our government.

The World Government is an oligarchy. Which means the rich nobles at the top make up whatever rules they see fit. In actuality the nobles themselves have very little real power but because of their lineage they're afforded a lifestyle no one else is an effort to keep them happy and out of the actual governing body's way. Just as merely hitting one can result in an admiral being personally called in to deal with the perpetrator. Currently the only legal slavery is of pirates and fishmen and mermaids because it's considered their lives are forfeit so long as they have a bounty on their head and therefore it doesn't matter what is done to them.

You know my feelings on Doflamingo. He makes his fortune precisely through the slave trade and his shichibukai status gives him government sanction to do things not even slavers could normally get away with.

I despise it. Even for pirates.

But one thing at a time. Justice is the most important value especially in an oligarchy because it affects how soldiers and citizens help or change the way nobility is run.

Sir, I just... can't believe that people would honestly go through with making their living selling other humans, fishmen, mermaids, even if they are pirates. They are still humans and deserve the right to a fair trial and a sentence that could lead them to a death.

But the fact that they allow this... It's disgusting and it makes me think that though we strive to make things better for the world... There are always going to be those surpressing this growth, nurturing their own selfish greed.

I don't care if it's legal, it's wrong and it makes me lose a bit of the hope that what we're doing will change things. Justice is justice, and I fully agree with that, but... I cannot stand by and allow this to happen.

... So perhaps, though I'd rather not do this.

I have no idea how many if any meitou there are but try not to take all day searching. We're bringing them in alive to the base and meeting up with Karen and the others promptly after that. We'll take the train early morning and I'll signal Zeni and we'll go straight to it. But I'm hoping to get this all finished by lunch.

Motion sickness pills, however, for some reason, simply seem to make me sicker. I've tried them on various occasions and only found my self with a light head and feeling worst.
