Smoker checked in on the separate bedroom car he'd gotten his Ensign. It figures. She would have motion sickness. Good thing he'd never dragged her along on his bike. And at the minimum she didn't get seasick because if there was marine in this world who would, just to frustrate him further, it would wind up being her. "Hey little lady," he joked knowing how much she hated being called that. "Have a drink." He didn't tell her what was in it. A combination of what Michiko had suggested.

The girl couldn't help the soft groan that left her chest, but as brown eyes opened and she sat up slowly in the bed, she looked up at Smoker apologetically, knowing that she was only being a bother with this whole thing. "T-thank you, Smoker-san..." She took the drink and almost took a sip... Almost gagging when the smell of alcohol plagued her nose. Brows drew tightly together and she held it out to him. "No... thank you sir, it's not going to help any..."

"Sir... Again," she paused to close her eyes and breathe in through her nose, settling the beverage on the closest table. "It's not going to help... But... T-thank you for trying sir..." Her brows knitted together and she moved to lay back down, curling under the blankets, rubbing her stomach to make sure it wouldn't lurch any more with every rock of the train. She was pretty sure she looked pale, even in the darkness of the room...

She blinked her eyes open and thought for a moment, before quickly (A little too quickly) she tugged Smoker to sit on the edge of the bed, putting his hand on her head and smiled vaguely. "Just pet my head, sir..." She breathed again through her nose, glad that her commanding officer was a good man and would at least see that she just needed to rest, no matter how hard he tried to get her to eat or drink.

Slowly, the girls eyes drifted closed and she fell into a light-sleep, just content to feel her superiors fingers. Her strong, but thin arms moved out into her sleep, sliding around his waist and her head buried against his jacket, much how a child would seek a comforting touch in their sleep from a safe and strong adult, the lullabye ringing in her ears until there was a sharp bump and brown eyes flickered open and she let out a soft shocked whimper, mostly at herself... Not quite realizing that she was curled up against Smoker.

Her body relaxed and she closed her eyes once more, happy that there was warmth and Smoker was allowing it. "T-thank you, sir..." Her voice seemed to drift off by the last word and her form simply shifted closer and tightened the strangely strong arms, happy that she was able to relax and not focus on the ache that was causing her to feel unsettled.

Her light sleep was interrupted by the soft singing, smiling slightly as she sat up, one arm unwinding from his waist so she could reach for her glasses. Eyes fuzzy as she rested her forehead against Smoker's shoulder, smiling to her self. "I vaguely remember someone singing that song to me when I was younger, Smoker-san, thank you for the vague memory. It makes me feel warm..."

Her hand caught a hold of him, making sure he didn't actually fall over. Pulling him back into a proper position as she leaned back down, glasses on her face, before her free hand reached over and took a sip of that alcoholic drink, blinking at how sweet it tasted, before she pushed it aside and cocked her head to look at him with a confused expression. "I'm feeling a little better, sir, just allow me to relax in your company, will you?"

She nodded and then blinked at his question. She offered it to him as she spoke. "Taste for yourself," she muttered softly, shifting so she could lean against Smoker quietly. Her eyes glanced down at the book. Eyebrow perking before she reached down and grabbed it gently from her commander's hands. "Am I keeping you away from everyone, sir...?"

She smiled and shook her head slightly, careful not to make herself any more dizzy. "Is something wrong with Karen-san, sir?" Her question was genuinely asked and she found herself taking a glance at the book before settling it besides her. "She seemed so happy to come when I last saw her..." Skilled hands patted the back of the other's and then sighed. "And, sir, before you comment about how you do not understand women to me, please be reminded, that I am a woman also, no matter how you see me."

She paused and then sighed once more and shifted closer, frowning slightly. "Smoker-san, perhaps I am not the person you should be watching at this moment. Allen-san, Zenigata-san and everyone else would probably love to see you, I'm sure of it. I am ... not the person you should be looking after right now."

"Yes sir..."

She nodded slightly and listened carefully about the who deal with Karen. She thought for a moment, and then smiled shaking her head. "Perhaps she doesn't want to bother you with it, Smoker-san."

Perhaps she was speaking more for herself, than Karen, but she was never quite sure why that little pool of unease rumbled through her chest whenever she was left behind when everyone else was able to go out and have fun. She closed her eyes and breathed in slowly, masking the look of discomfort (aimed at her own acknowledgment of jealousy for almost everyone else) for one of sickness as she thought out the words quickly.

"Perhaps she is just homesick?"

That one was definitely aimed for Karen, she noted. "Not every woman is going to simply tell you how she feels about certain things, sir. You may just have to let it go and allow them to be alone for a while until they get themselves in order..."

That she noted, may have been directed more at herself than Karen, but she hoped he wouldn't see through it.

She took the drink thankfully, sipping at it slowly, careful not to upset her stomach. Her free hand returning from patting the other's hand, before it was placed calmly on her own lap. She thought about answering truthfully for a few moments, but quickly pushed the thought back in favour of lying. No doubt Smoker would find out eventually... but right now... she wasn't going to let him know about the jealous feelings, not until she couldn't stand it anymore.

Unknowingly, that hand on her lap balled into the soft material of the blanket and her lip was bitten in a slightly nervous habit. "No sir, nothing wrong." She could tell even from the soft quality her voice came out, that Smoker wasn't going to buy it right away. "I'm sure I'm just a little worn out, sir. Everything combined must've just took everything I had energy wise."

Her head tilted and her lip was bitten harder. "Sir, it's nothing." She felt her shoulders tighten and then relax, before she realized it wasn't at all his fault and perhaps she was taking it out on him. "... I apologize if that came out meaner than it should have."

She almost didn't notice the glass cracking in her palm, then when it shattered, she looked down at it and quickly opened her hand to make sure she wasn't bleeding, she wasted no time pushing herself off the bed, not caring how dizzy she got or the feeling in her stomach, she quickly moved the glass to the garbage, before pulling the sheet off, making sure it didn't go through to the bedsheet. She worked fast, even getting a new blanket from the closet, before she managed to sit back down on the edge of the bed, her eyes screwed shut, blood seeping from the cut hand.

"I'm sorry sir, this... this is something I'd prefer not to share..." She finally said, ignoring the dizziness or the lurch in her stomach that made her want to curl up into a ball and just cry over the fact that she wasn't strong enough to be above jealousy.
