Where: The train ride
Who: Smoker, Tashigi and ANYONE/EVERYONE (feel free to jump in the Tashigi/Smoker thread or make your own)
Why: I'm a sucker for logs and guuhhh cute stuff resolution
What: Taking the train from St. Poplar to Water 7, Smoker dealing with Tashigi's SECRET motion sickness
When: Thursday COMING BACK.
Rating: G for sweet and cute unless someone amps it <3



Smoker checked in on the separate bedroom car he'd gotten his Ensign. It figures. She would have motion sickness. Good thing he'd never dragged her along on his bike. And at the minimum she didn't get seasick because if there was marine in this world who would, just to frustrate him further, it would wind up being her. "Hey little lady," he joked knowing how much she hated being called that. "Have a drink." He didn't tell her what was in it. A combination of what Michiko had suggested.

"Tashigi," Smoker growled, placing a hand on her shoulder, "Lay back down. I'll not have you forcing yourself to sit with the others while you're miserable and sick." A pause and he pinched the bridge between his eyebrows, "Amending that: I will not let you even if it means I have to put you into bed myself." His face pinked considerably, "That came out wrong I mean.... WELL YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!" he yelled.

Once she was safely back in the bed Smoker grabbed the chair once more but pulled it closer. "You will always be my right-hand girl so long as you can put up with me. No matter what manner of other recruits we pick up to defeat Straw-Hat's crew, no matter who I take in. There's one Tashigi." He held out a lecturing finger again. "You. And that isn't going to change Ensign."

She was glad to have been put back into the bed, and could only keep her eyes on the ceiling listening to him, she noted he almost sounded jealous, but his words didn't help the feeling in the pit of her stomach. She forced herself to smile though, turning her eyes to look straight at him.

"... Sir, are you jealous that I want to call Hina-taisa a lot?"

The question wasn't meant to be offensive or anything, but maybe... him sharing this with her would make her feel better, even if it probably wouldn't.

"Yes," Smoker grinned wryly. "And sometimes if we go too long without a spar." He leaned hard on the chair backing. "Jealousy isn't prevented by being strong. It comes about because of strong feelings. A certain sense of values and justice and fairness. Being strong just helps what you do with them. And bottling it up? That's not strong. If I go too long without you again come get me. Because I don't mean to and sometimes I just give you space thinking that's what you want as a full-grown woman. Understand?"

She couldn't help but laugh, before shifting under the blankets, pulling her glasses off and set them back onto the table. She reached under the blankets and handed him the book. "Thank you, sir... that... made me feel better... I will make it up to you some how, I promise."

"Just get stronger," Smoker insisted and opened the book into the middle with one hand, skimming it vaguely as he watched over his right hand woman.

With that, Tashigi closed her eyes and let herself relax enough to fall into another light doze.
