I found my jacket and cuffs, loaded up on free cigars, still haven't found my jitte.

If anyone's seen a big-ass metal and seastone stick kicking around, I'd like it back. Assuming it's in this place.

Downside to finding the jacket, it doesn't fit over the damned wings. It looks like I'll either have to cut holes into the jacket or get a new one. Damn it. Anyone know of a better solution? What do you people usually do for it?

Still haven't seen any other marines, but just in case Long-Nose is lying, if any exist here: report in immediately.

I ain't a Marine, but I'm a Shichibukai! Will that do? ...Or did ya mean some other kinda Marine? Is the term "Grand Line" familiar to ya?

[Technically former, but maybe Smoker doesn't know that. What point in the series is he from?]

I don't care if they revoke my status or not! At this point, it don't really matter, given the sorry state that the Marines are in! It ain't like they can enforce anything with all o' the cleanin' up they gotta do! [Plus, he already quit.]

I dunno! There's a bunch o' people from our world here, though I wouldn't think you'd care that much. None o' them are Marines, an' there wouldn't be much point in arrestin' any pirates, seein' as there ain't any place to lock 'em up!

Ah, sounds like you're another military man. I'm no marine, though. I'm a ranger.

[He's just guessing from the command to report in. He's never even heard of a marine.]

I work for the Sheldar Rangers. We fight rebels and rogue genics to protect the people of Sheldar.

Genics are genetically engineered animals. They're used as food, labor, and sometimes even weapons. Occasionally they get loose and go wild. In this rogue state, they might attack humans, so they usually have to be killed.

You can press the wings in on your back, but that's painful until you get used to it. [Plus doesn't work on particularly tight clothing. Which is why he only puts his jackets, not his shorts, over his wings]

That's one way of putting it. you could try holding them to your back with tape or wrappings if you can't do it manually yet.

That's what I think too. That said, it's also easier to cut holes if it's not that important. [...But you die if your wings are cut off so he would prefer to have something obscuring them]

You can always alter the clothing to fit. Though cutting holes would be the crude way to do that.

I'm afraid I haven't found another way yet. You could always wear something else while you're here.

Well if you do decide to alter the jacket just try to do it in a way that won't damage it more than necessary. At least you can still mend it when you leave.

How nice is the jacket?

[voice]

[identity profile] standsonhands.livejournal.com 2010-04-22 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
Don't cut holes in it then!

Just save it, maybe your wings will fall off and you can use it.
