Smoker's return [Action / Video]

[The minute Smoker realizes he's back in Luceti, he gets his jitte. Like hell he's letting some pirate take it for a few months again. Then there's the basic things. A month's supply of cigars, and oh, isn't that nice of him, they even thought to get him a bunch of his own marine brand. They literally say marine on the little gold tabs, so surely no pirates would want to try them, right? Then it's off to get coffee, prowl around the general vicinity and head on home. As he's heading inside, the sheer amount of packages he's carrying jostles the journal open.]

Ikki, I have to thank you for the Cosmos-- Haki... [Annoyed growl. No Ikki. :| Figures. So he goes to open the journal for real and everyone can get a look at Smoker, two years later, no longer wearing his hair in ~~awesome~~ spikes, sunglasses, a giant scar, but still 100% Smoker.] Where the hell is Ikki? And how long have I been gone that he moved out? [He can tell Ikkk is still in Luceti, if not where, but what the hell man?] What's the date?

Right, to everyone else, I'm Vice Admiral Smoker. [Oh that's right, he uses his real title now. Watch out world.] As soon as I can, I'd like to get back into teaching jitte and kickboxing. Any old or new students, we'll meet at the barracks. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are open sessions, the other days can be scheduled for private hours or one on one sparring. If anyone spots a marine, let me know. Do not try to engage anyone from G5 in a regular conversation, they've earned their reputation as being pyromaniac psychos, just send them my way and I'll deal with them. [There is no affection to that. If anything "deal with them" sounds a little like "beat senseless and chain to a wall somewhere." Anyone want to laugh at him for his choice of command post?]

I assume we must be in a New Feather cycle, so welcome to Luceti. There are other people teaching forms of martial arts or filial magic, but unless the Drafts and missions have stopped -- which I doubt -- you'll want to take advantage of at least one form if you can.

[She can't quite remember, but it seems he's a flirt - and one who knows her tics and buttons. Sadly, she cannot remember for the light of her, who this person is - even if he seems so familiar.]

And so what name do we put in the lights besides hers, hm?

[A long glance. Oh so she doesn't remember.]

Smoker. Vice Admiral Smoker, but just Smoker is fine.

[Smoker. Vice Admiral even. She doesn't remember flirting with someone like him, but he seems familiar. Stepping up, she reaches for his glasses.]

I've been told I was here before. You wouldn't happen to know anything about that, would you?

[Yeah, Smoker's gotten more polite in two years, but no, fuck that. He tilts Grell back (isn't nice to meet a guy actually taller than her?) and removes the cigars to kiss her hard. That's it. Just sets her down like nothing happened and turns to start walking away, putting back the cigars and sunglasses.]

Yes, I know quite a bit.

[What.

Just happened.

He. Just.

What.

Grell is literally shell shocked as Smoker puts her down, takes the sunglasses back and walks away. She isn't sure what happened, but that? Was the last thing she'd ever expected. Especially since as the smell of the cigar smoke floats back, she begins to remember other moments just like that. Hazy, but they're there and now she's a little upset that he's walking away.]

Excuse me. Is that all the greeting I get after being gone so long?

Yes. If you can't even remember me.

[But he's smirking. Is that her remembering things now, or just her usual self.]

And how am I to remember when you hide your pretty eyes behind those glasses?

[fine, if he's going to tease, she'll play. She jumps to get ahead of him and tries to snag the glasses as she passes by.]

You should be more careful or I might take your glasses in return woman. [Clearly amused despite the missing sunglasses and folded arms.]

[With glasses in hand, she lands a few feet ahead of him, twirling them in her fingers before setting them on top of her head.]

You wouldn't dare be so cruel to your lady, now would you? Besides, this way?

[She steps up close to him again, smiling.]

You're more like I remember.

[Grins.]

So it's starting to come back? [Reaches out a smoke arm to lasso her around the waist and drag her closer to him.]

[Ooh, now this? She remembers. Coming in close, she raises an eyebrow, putting her hands on his chest.]

Fuzzy, but I'm not surprised you're the first thing I remember. You left quite the impression on me.

Good. God knows I tried to leave a mark or two.

How long have you been back? You don't remember anything else yet? Where are you staying anyway? I think the house isn't available now.

[nfufu oh smoker] Mm, perhaps you'll need to leave a few more until my memory is fully restored?

[And wow, let her breathe between questions here, Smokey. She puts her arms up around his neck.] I only arrived a few days ago and haven't settled in yet.

[Whiiich, she pulls in closer.]

You wouldn't happen to know where I could stay, do you?

[Well that just gets her a quick nibble on her neck behind an ear. Hope she doesn't mind the PDA.]

I'd offer my place, but Ikki and I are still working things out. He was the one who let me know you were back. [Aka; don't hate his phoenix roommate.] But if you want help settling down somewhere I'll bring tea. English if I can wrangle it. I guess it'll take awhile to get all your red things back too. [Unspoken: But he'll do his best to help with that.]

[Haaaa...Yes, okay, that definitely brings back memories. It's frustrating how she could have even forgotten, but going back, in just a few months, everything had changed and--

No. She isn't going to think about it. That's just silly. Instead, she'll chuckle under her breath and pull back, keeping his sunglasses on top of her head, threaded through her hair.]

Oh, I've found tea. Surprising how many people here offer it as if it makes up for imprisonment. I was finally back to work, too.

[A heavy sigh and she shrugs.]

I suppose finding accommodation should be on my list eventually. I'm really not that bothered to be honest.

Maybe they just remember that about you. [Since Smoker's a coffee man anyway.]

Hmm... want help looking?

How was work going? Were you sent back for long?

[Always with the questions. Always.]

[Wow, he is really piling on the questions. Time to pick and choose which ones she wants to answer.]

A little help would be nice - someplace...convenient if you know what I mean.

Also I could ask the same about you. As far as I remember, that-- [she points to her own temple where his scar is]-- wasn't part of the package.

[Grins.] There's probably something open next door if you don't mind staying close. [Though this means Smoker will show up way more often and probably unannounced at that.]

Two years in the New World, a lot happened. [Turns around briefly to show off the full length justice jacket he's wearing like a cloak on top of the leather one.] I'm a Vice Admiral now. [He's actually pretty happy about that, having earned it the hard way, and more importantly to him; his way.]

We shall see, hm? [Being close has its benefits - but also its disadvantages. She doesn't remember everything here, but she does remember his work and how it might be at odds with some of her less than virtuous activities. Same floor would work, or perhaps one above or below, but she doesn't want to wear out her welcome so quickly.] And isn't that impressive.

[Vice Admiral. Two years. ...And yet he still remembered.]

[There's a puppy-like grin at that.]

So how about you, you haven't told me what you've been up to.

[She grabs the coat and pulls in close, wrapping it up behind with her inside.]

Oh, it was only a few months - a few boring months, to be honest. Went to sea for a bit, took care of a sinking ship, fought off these disgusting creatures called the Bizarre Dolls, and uncovered a nasty traitor. [Nearly killed Sebastian, Ciel and met Lizzie in the process, lots of other things that just won't get mentioned.] Oh, but none of them are quite as exciting as seeing you again.

"Bizarre Dolls?" What kind of traitor... one in your specialty?

[A wry grin at the final part.] Hah. [Taps her nose affectionately with a finger.] Shouldn't I be the one flattering you?

It's what he called them and yes, in our field. They were unnatural things, but I'm afraid the specifics are under investigation and I'm not privy to discuss them.

[Which is unfortunate. Grell wishes she could get her hands on that man again; this time without Ronald being kicked into her stomach.]

And you're free to flatter all you like, darling. I certainly shan't protest.

Understood, I won't press it. [After all, he's got his own confidential things he can't share.]

Hah. In that case, what do you say to an actual date to catch up? Have you got the time?

[She steps back, and pulls the sunglasses from her hair, twirling them around her finger again.]

That said, it would be nice to freshen up a bit before we had our "first" date, hm?
