Didn't we already have this discussion? If humans lived without only themselves looking out for themselves, humanity would have died. As a species we've survived precisely because humans protect the "weak" who wind up having something else to offer to society thereby giving us more options.
As much as I appreciate upfront honesty, life is more than just pain or hurting other people.
