Hello new feathers and old.

First off, I'm Captain Smoker. [Those who know otherwise can point out that he's a commodore, and that it doesn't even matter in this place.] I teach kickboxing, basic self defense, and jitte for anyone who would need it. I can also help spar against swordsmen if they're looking to expand their skills. Every so often a draft goes out taking people at random; kids and civilians alike, so even a little bit of practice can help. There are other self defense classes being taught so I'm sure we could work something out between teachers and create a formal schedule if need be.

Secondly, there's a lot of discussion about putting together a more permanent form of police or watch group to deal as first responders to threats to the village. Since that doesn't seem like something that will get worked out too easily, I'd like to suggest making a safe haven of the barracks. Anyone who can't or doesn't want to fight could safely put there in emergencies and defenders could keep watch.

On a different note; Jack Sparrow I'm confiscating your ship. Your previous acts of piracy here in Luceti have shown you're not to be trusted with one. Now let that be a lesson to other would-be pirates here.

Not exactly, the tine on a jitte is meant to hit vital organs rather than catch a sword, but yeah something like that.

Yes, kickboxing could do that. Or if you just have legs you could focus on that.

Yeah. Well, now we just have marines, but it's similar. Minus armor and horses and replace with jackets with the emblem for justice on them, and sailing on ships.

Nice to meet you, but debt's not necessary, though if you'd like to continue knightly duties, we're trying to put together a watch of sorts.

Alright. When would be a good time to begin? It's been a few days since I last practiced. [He doesn't care for the idea of doing a guard's duty, but if its the price to pay for help, he can saddle it]

[Rubs his chin trying to figure it out.] Do you mind sometime around 7? It should be still be light then during summer. If the rain bothers your arm though, I'll make an exception for an indoor practice.

[Don't worry about the guard duty, the whole "watch thing" is literally in the starting stages. Smoker is just sick of everyone talking about it for a year and not pushing it forward.]

[Jaime shrugs] 7 is fine. Its a good hour in my world, though these seasons still mean little to me. Outdoor practice works well enough. [Mayhaps somewhere nobody can see me make a fool of myself...]

What kind of seasons did you have in your world?

Oh, we have the usual Summer/Fall/Winter/Spring stuff, but our seasons last for many years, and seem much more...extreme? If this is summer, pray you never spend one in Westeros. Or winter, for that matter. Winter is a nasty affair [Just ask poor old dead Ned...]

For years? Huh.

My world is a little similar, on the Grand Line, each island has one season permanently. But yeah, I guess this weather really wouldn't faze you. Good to see.

It's an ocean where pirates flood to in search of One Piece.

Infamous for trials that kill most pirates, and equally infamous for being completely insane.

Islands in permanent weather and hordes of pirates do tend to make for insane times I suppose. Are you a sailor then?

Yup. Marine. Not that it means much to most people here.

Ah. Seems like titles mean little and less here, my own included. Well, I suppose I should prepare. I will see you at the appointed time.
