Late on the 6th [Voice]

Right, this is Smoker. I'm back in my own body, thanks to everyone who helped when I was a kid, and you know... during the shift.

Jitte and kickboxing lessons will be delayed until the 10th, but that doesn't mean stop practicing. Keep up the exercises, because I'll be very disappointed if any of you start slipping.

For anyone else interested in joining in, I teach basic self defense, kickboxing, and jitte. There are one-on-one sessions and group sessions, feel free to ask about a schedule because with the drafts ongoing, at least you can learn something to get a fighting chance for survival.

And who still here in the village knows anything about motorcycles? A friend recently reminded me life can be too short not to pursue some things.

Lupin, if you still remember the thing I asked Red about, I'd like to discuss it.

I'd argue that I can't be the worst to hit on you, but that would mean having the desire to even let someone else in my body do such a thing, and I'd just as soon not.

[At first the offer just confuses him. Especially with where his brain was going thanks to Nico Robin's prank. Didn't they just agree Smoker hitting on Ace is gross? Is Ace trying to get revenge?]

[But they had been drinking as kids and that was kind of fun.... not that... Smoker could admit it. Why did he almost only drink with criminals lately? Well and Zenigata. Thank god for the inspector. Oh but more silence Ace as Smoker tries to work this out.]

I don't know about you, but I'm not in the mood for a loud bar. [It's less fun now that he can't use it as an excuse to lure out pirates and beat them up.]

[Still there's a chin-rub that clearly shows he's not saying no.] Want to grab a couple pints and meet by the fountain again? [In case Ace was asking because of when they were kids, of course.]

If it's a trap though, I'm heading out on that mission tomorrow, so if you want a real fight, wait till I'm back.

[So suspicious forever. But at least it means he still considers Ace a real threat capable of putting up a worthwhile fight. For whatever that's worth to his ego.]

He wants to say it's easier for Ace; having had a marine grandfather and as a bizarre pirate who's even rescued marines before... but after Ace's execution, there was a much slimmer chance that was true. Just an excuse. And if Portgas can put aside that enmity...

But it was different, wasn't it? His boss was still Akainu who killed Ace, however much Smoker hated the man.

Tch. No. Smoker would work for his own justice, and not for any one man. He'd decided on that ages ago, and it was still true.

He half wants to ask why Ace is so willing to look past such things... but he's not sure he's ready for the answer yet.]

[There's a quick scribbling sound as Smoker makes a note for his tsundere translation book he's making for Kotomi.]

... mn. Okay. Take your time. [He might sound... just a little sad. He did just want to have a drink with him! Was it really that bad?]

By "we'll see" I mean that literally, in person, whatever happens.

[Folds arms. Ace should thank Kotomi-chan for getting Smoker into the habit of at least explaining some things. In any case, Smoker's pride definitely won't let him let Ace suddenly be better at moving past superficial labels. It's a same-old, same-old isn't it? Since they first met, Ace was the one who said they didn't have to fight and Smoker said he had to arrest him.]

[Except he wasn't going to bother with that in Luceti and... all right, he wasn't comfortable with drinking with a pirate yet, but he did actually want to.]

... it is seriously hard to tell when it's a "yes" or a "no" with you. [God, Smoker, why so tsundere?]

[He'll end the feed there, and quickly head over to the bar, ask for a bottle of rum and another of sake. Whistling Bink's Sake on his way, he keeps both bottles secure under his arm. Keeping an eye out for that very familiar messy ~~and nomable~~ head of hair, and waves when he recognizes him. Ace heads on over, holding out the bottle for him.]

Hey, Smoker.

[Nods his head and takes the bottle gratefully tilting it to lightly clink against Ace's. Now they are conspirators to rob the bar. But it's okay because there's no money in Luceti anyway.]
