[Voice] Jitte, Self-Defense, and Executions

Hello New Feathers and old, I'm Cap-- Err Smoker. [Wow Proof he has done this message way too many times, he momentarily forgot his own rank. Woops. Not that it even matters here.]

I teach jitte, kickboxing, and basic self-defense outside the barracks, and it's open to anyone, no matter how inexperienced. As you may have heard by now, every so often the Malnosso take people at random for drafts, and while non-combatants have other opportunities to help support, any self defense can help.

For others, I wanted to ask about other world's or country's history regarding executions. Are there any that changed the world, or have other people here seen them personally?

I never actually saw any during the war, since I was still a kid, but I did hear about it. Now it's just the higher-ups sending guys into a battle they have no chance of winning because the guy has no more use.

Would you prefer one on one sessions, group sessions, or both?

That... how does that work exactly? They're executing their own men? Or do they turn criminals into working for them?

I'm a pretty quick learner, so one on one might be better.

They think all of their men are replaceable. And the ones that aren't, they just don't like.

But right now, they are all a bunch of criminals, and a bunch of idiots.

Group sessions are more for exercise and sparring. So you can find other sparring partners about your level. How does 3 days a week around 1 or 2 pm sound?

Uhm...finding someone on my level might be kinda hard. I know one guy, but he only fights with guns. ANd yep, that sounds fine.

It's not really a government...or was. That's been gone for about two years now. Now it's just a bunch of guys that finally figured out something to do, and they aren't very organized yet...they really weren't the most interesting people to spy on.

So who was enforcing laws or catching criminals? It was all just warlords?

The WRO. It's a small group right now, but it's doing it's job.

Yeah, I want to get stronger too.

All right, and what happens when the criminals are caught?

Uhh...that's not my department, and I don't want to have anything to do with it. I am only in charge of intelligence gathering, and espionage. And I'm fine with that.

I see. So the ones in danger of execution by proxy did what to "deserve" it exactly?

Well it would be kinda bad to kick my teacher through a wall.

They're hurting the planet...My planet is sort of different. There's a thing called the lifestream which keeps the planet alive, but people can use it for easy energy, which is really bad.

Having been slammed through sixteen walls at once before, I think it's safe to say that isn't something you need to worry about. [Also. Hey. He's plenty strong enough to handle you Missy.]

I think I've heard of lifestreams before. [He has.] What happens if people use it for energy?

...[That wins] Then it's fair to say I can't kill you that way.

It kills the planet, and the more that's used, the harder it is for more trees to grow, and for new lives.

I'm quite certain you could not. Luceti tends to wind up with some extremely strong people, but I don't think there's anyone here who could accidentally kill me in sparring. [Although he's not sure if Saori was going full out, but still, his point stands.]

I see. And people are are aware of this cost, but use it anyway?

That's true. Though I know they have a few people here that can't throw a punch. [Oh Saori...Yuffie still has some bruises from that spar.]

Yep, and that's what we're trying to stop.

[Saori is a very tough cookie.] True enough. That's why I always offer this. That way the option is always there.

I see. Mind if I ask how you stop them?

It's a good idea. I'm only used to teaching kids though, so there's not much I can do here.

Again, not my area...but I'd bet most are killed. Vincent takes care of the tougher guys.

Understood. You don't have to use the Lifestream to stop them though?

I doubt they all want to become ninjas though.

Nope. There's other kinds of energy. Harder to set up a system to use, but it's there.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Is that all you teach?

I see, so not only could they avoid using the Lifestream, the things they use it for have other sources of possible energy?

...Sorta. With it all I teach weapons, techniques, and other skills.

Yep. It doesn't really need to be used at all.

I think you might find that more in demand with the kids here than you realize. [And also he hopes you might be less oh... intimidating than him. Smoker loves kids, but he does tend to be accidentally scary-ish.]

All the more reason to stop them then.

You think? [Well Yuffie is smaller, and...not scary-ish. She also likes kids, since she kinda is one!]

Yes. Talk to the school here and if you want I'll share the barracks. If you don't want to use the Battledome for it. [All things that help. Smoker is like a big mastiff dog. All gruff, bark, and growl. And deadly on bandits. Some kids like it, others are scared.]

Certainly seems like a worthwhile cause. Are there any other criminals in your world that require dealing with?

It might be better if I taught outside. [Yuffie is only scary when it comes for materia..]

Not at the moment. It was actually pretty quite for a year.
