[Voice] Jitte, Self-Defense, and Executions

Hello New Feathers and old, I'm Cap-- Err Smoker. [Wow Proof he has done this message way too many times, he momentarily forgot his own rank. Woops. Not that it even matters here.]

I teach jitte, kickboxing, and basic self-defense outside the barracks, and it's open to anyone, no matter how inexperienced. As you may have heard by now, every so often the Malnosso take people at random for drafts, and while non-combatants have other opportunities to help support, any self defense can help.

For others, I wanted to ask about other world's or country's history regarding executions. Are there any that changed the world, or have other people here seen them personally?

Thanks.

Yes, I'm serious. [ said in a 'why wouldn't I be..?' kind of tone, yes, she's always serious! ]

And.. there is a variety of reasons, I suppose. I think it made it all feel more 'right' to them to have the formality.

In the end it became a country much like the ones in the rest of Europe. Although it can be said that is because a lot of the countries around France had less severe revolutions, following France's example. It's possible therefore to say that France made Europe the way it is now.

.. Well, there was another one..

The Taiping Rebellion was a widespread civil war in China from 1850 to 1864, led by heterodox Christian convert Hong Xiuquan, against the ruling Qing Dynasty. About 25-million people died, mainly civilians, so they say it's one of the deadliest military conflicts in history. This conflict rates as second most loss of life only to WW2.

It was because a group of rebels formed. It was led by heterodox Christian convert Hong Xiuquan, who, having claimed to have received visions, maintained that he was the younger brother of Jesus Christ. He led an army that controlled much of southern China, with about 30 million people. The rebel Kingdom announced social reforms and the replacement of Confucianism, Buddhism and Chinese folk religion by a form of Christianity, holding that Hong Xiuquan was the younger brother of Jesus. The Taiping areas were besieged by Qing, the normal government, forces throughout most of the rebellion. The Qing government defeated the rebellion with the eventual aid of French and British forces.

.. So.. I guess it's since they sided with that rebel..?

It's always sad when a lot of people die. A lot of them must've done nothing wrong, right? There's no way there could be that many bullies in one spot, after all..

H.. hm. I think it's always really, really sad when people die.. I wish people wouldn't have to die. They a-always leave behind so many other sad people..

[ It doesn't help that Kotomi's sense of humor is weird and practically absent so she takes everything literally, huh. ]

.. Smoker-kun wants to be like Ikki-kun..?
etudes: (and it talks to me in tiptoes)

I think Ikki-kun and Smoker-kun are really amazing in their own ways though. [ oh no, now here come the compliments, smoker-- better be ready to deal with it. ]

They're both really strong and they can fight off bullies.. I'm really glad to know both Ikki-kun and Smoker-kun.

[ sorry, Kotomi is incapable of insulting people-- she can only compliment people a whole lot.. at least she never notices the blushing either? ]

Really? Smoker-kun is glad to have met me..?

Ah.. hearing that gives me a very happy warm feeling inside.. I'm glad that I was able to make Smoker-kun happy by being his friend.

[ Screw that noise, Kotomi thinks Smoker deserves all the good friends ever, okay. She'll never find faults with him, she's too oblivious to do so either way.. ]

It's just that I think reading is fun.. don't a lot of people think that?

...

Oh no.. That's actually a little sad. I'm sure the books must feel unloved if not a lot of people love them a lot..
