I see. The Republic Council really do sound like the World Government then. At least in the political aspect.

So the Equalist movement is done with for now? [Slightly curious head tilt at that. It's a little strange to him, how a bunch of the people here can literally be nearly done with the chaos in their life. In his world it's too never-ending.]

My idea of justice... [A slight chin rub.] Doing what's right, because it's right. Everyone doing their best in their strengths and becoming stronger. What justice should be about. What real justice always was. It doesn't change depending who's in power, because those with power and strength have the duty to protect those without. It means making some tough choices sometimes. Putting away selfish desires for the greater good. But it's always worth it. Following justice, everything else falls into place. [More or less. It's basically having a Jimminey Cricket for a conscience and always letting Justice be your guide.]

I'm not sure what the D stands for yet. "Danger" maybe. Unfortunately most Ds don't seem to know either.

Art Club?? Hm. All right... And yeah. The Phoenix knows Blackbeard. Blackbeard used to be in the Whitebeard crew. For decades. That's part of why his leaving, and then killing Whitebeard later were such a shock.

[Definite grin at Ikki's reaction to the sky islands.] There really are islands way up there. Several of them, but I've never been personally. If you're friends with him, you can probably ask the Phoenix at the art club about them. I'm not sure if any of the Straw Hats have been to one yet or not, but they might have as well.

If you ever get the chance, get something clothing designed from Rune or Keimi. Keimi's a mermaid and definitely the best. [Biased Papa here.] And Whole Cake Island does get eaten now and again. If the rumors are to be believed.

They say there even used to be dragons on Wano Island. The New World's a crazy place, but for someone looking to prove their strength and skills, there's nowhere better to go.

Really! Although the Harmony Restoration Movement I talked about happened when he was about fourteen. It took years for things from the war to be cleaned up, 'cause of how long it was, and there're still things you see from then.

Mm, kinda. When Uncle Bumi and the navy came in to clear up the revolution, they caught a lot of the leaders under Amon, 'cause of the confusion of...everything. The Equalists were able to do so much 'cause of how they hid, and now they can't, really. I think there'll still be some problems later, but not as much, because Amon was the only person who knew how to take away bending, and also a lot of the things they had got taken away - Mr. Sato supplied a lot of their weapons and things, I'm pretty sure, and he's in jail, now. So...they're finishing things up, and from all I've heard, things are going really, really well - and the city is under control again.

[ She taps her chin as he talks, considering it, before grinning. ] I like that one! Protecting people is important. Helping them is important! Did you learn that from your parents? Or is it something you decided on your own?

Yeah, the Art Club! Rapunzel and I started one. The first meeting was on the sixteenth, and we're having meetings every month! Also, Miss Potts is going to display some of the work done in the club in her gallery, 'cause Sifu Raine asked about it! [ she looks a bit startled at the whole killing Whitebeard part. ] Why'd he kill someone who used to be his father?

I think we're friends! Well, he was nice, anyway. But everyone I've met so far from your world has been nice to me. [ PROBABLY BECAUSE OF HER AGE, come to think. ] Katara was friends with a lot of them before I got here, so I met them through her.

Does Keimi have her own shop here?

And the restoration took most of the rest of Aang's life?

That's a relief. Hopefully it will stay quiet for awhile then, so you can get back to your other projects.

[Another rare grin about his own justice.] I had help. Not from my parents, but from a lot of philosophers and some good mentors. And even just my friends who helped make sure I didn't get kicked out of the marines for my stubborn nature. ["Stubborn" like telling his bosses to eat shit. In the marines, where disobedience is tantamount to treason punishable by death. Seriously, he needed that help.]

I think I remember seeing that post. [Vaguely. He skims/stalks often and comments little. Believe it or not, he's not usually talkative. So Ikki gets a whole side of him almost no one else in Luceti would ever believe existed. Heck, Phoenix Ikki his roommate and him can go nearly whole weeks without talking to each other. Apparently little Ikki just gets to be the polar opposite.]

Blackbeard wanted Whitebeard's devil fruit. The only way to get it was when he died. And Blackbeard turned his back on the crew quite sometime before that. He... [Smoker hesitates again. Not just to shield Ikki, but even Ace who definitely didn't need the reminder.] is a pretty good idea of what some pirates at their worst are like. He's done a lot of terrible things.

[Yup, even Blackbeard is nice to kids. Off the top of my head the only villain I can think of that was mean to kids is Morgan & forcibly his on Helmeppo. And given the historical pirate Henry Morgan that seems reasonable. And also all of Cipher Pol. And some of the marines. And the whole history-Moses-search for Ace. And the people Robin had to deal with as a child. But none of them count because they don't even have names.] You could probably ask one of them then, that'd be safe. [Because whatever, Sky Islands are cool, and that is just fact. He will also look for a book about them in the library for her.]

Keimi mostly works in Rune's shop, but she does a lot of her own designs too. If you tell her I sent you she'll probably be thrilled to say hi.

Hey what kind of animals does your world have?

Yep! He died ten years before I was born, but he helped to found Republic City and he built Air Temple Island for our home.

I think it will! My other projects are just trainin', though. And I don't know if Korra will be spending too much more time with us, 'cause she got pretty good at airbending at the end there.

We talk a lot about philosophy at the temple! ...Well, the nuns and monks do, anyway. [ She's...technically a nun, but she means the older air nomads here. ]

Mmhmm, that was a little after I left, I think! [ As far as Ikki is aware, Smoker is normally pretty forthcoming and talkative. Even when they first met he answered her questions and seemed generally willing to hold a conversation. She's been mostly baffled by the indications that he doesn't get on with the pirates. ]

You can get someone else's devil fruit?

And I'll do that! I've got lots of new things to wear since we got here, 'cause the weather is different and stuff. ...And I only had one set of my usual clothes, so.

Oh! My world has lots of animals, and usually no one has ever seen them. Shikamaru said they're like two of most other people's - lion turtles and cat owls and things like that - but there're other animals that don't seem to be a mix of anything but no one can know 'em. Here, I can do better than tell you about at least two of them!

[ She'll just pick up her journal and wander outside House 56. Appa should be...yep, there he is. Ikki holds up the journal from a good distance away so all of Appa is in the screen. He's pretty big, so this requires her to stand a long ways away. ] This is Appa! He's a sky bison - he can fly! - and he belongs to my grandpa. He has five stomachs, so he eats a loooooooooooooot.

He founded the City? [He's surprised again. The more he hears about Aang, the more incredible he seems. Honestly, Smoker's almost wishing his world did have an Avatar instead of just whatever Ds count as. Or tenyruubito. It's a strange thing to contemplate.]

Korra probably has other things she wants to do as well, I assume?

Admittedly philosophy is almost a weakness of mine. That and history. I really like reading about it and watching as it happens in present day life. And trying to make an impact myself by following justice. Have you started to realize your own philosophies yet?

That sounds about right for timing. At least you weren't gone too long then. And you remember everything. There are a lot of people here who've come and gone quite a few times without memories of this place.

[To be fair, Smoker's dislike of pirates isn't completely secluded. He doesn't like a lot of things, but pirates do top that list.] You can't normally get another person's devil fruit, no. And you are never supposed to be able to eat two. That would make a devil fruit user explode normally. I don't know how Blackbeard did it. Ds just always find a way to do the impossible, it would seem.

I'm sure Keimi will be glad to help with that. And it's always good to have more reason to keep busy here.

[And... Wow. Smoker would be more shocked by the six limbed flying bison, but that is kind of cute. Even if he won't admit it.] At that size? I'll bet.

Most of the animals here just seem less evolved than in my world. Which is ironic since my world still has some prehistoric islands with dinosaurs, and devil fruit users than can transform into one. But for the most part they just seem more on the plain side. No Kappa whales, or Bananadiles, and everything seems extremely tiny. Except for Moro and Appa I suppose, but they don't count since they're not natives to this place either.

It's just as well though, I suppose, since the one kraken we did have here nearly drowned me and a bunch of others.

Yep! He and Uncle Zuko - and Uncle Sokka helped a lot, too.

Probably! I mean, I haven't asked her. I think she'll end up spending time in the Battle Dome. She's that sort of person, I think! I don't know what else she has going on really, though.

My own philosophies? [ That's just stuff she believes in, right? ] Go with the wind! And always, always protect your family! And remember the things that are important, and be happy for everything you can be happy for. And do no harm.

Ah, yeah, I've heard about that. According to grandpa, he was here before but he doesn't remember it, and Uncle Zuko has been here a lot without remembering it? [ Not while she's been here, yet, but she's aware it has happened, at least. ]

I really like sundresses!! I didn't have any at home. Although I guess it'll get a little cold for those soon, huh!

I haven't heard of Kappa whales or bananadiles, you know? But I think your world's animals sound as weird as mine - I mean "weird" 'cause so far I haven't met anyone from another world who has the animals we have.

That must have been incredible. Sokka and Katara have always had a pretty strong presence in Luceti and keeping it stable, but I had no idea.

I can't say I'm much of one for the Battledome, but have you tried it? Supposedly there are some features that aren't for fighting, just for fun.

[Grins.] Those all sound like great philosophies. Make sure you stick with them, okay?

Right. [Short nod of his head.] I was here once before without remembering it, then left and did remember when I came back. Either way I left myself a trail this time in case I ever feel like picking it up if I come back without memories.

You like sundresses, but you don't have any? Why not? Some sort of uniform dress code? [Man, Smoker feels you there. The MAN is always trying to get him down and make him wear things like shirts. Or follow the marine uniform code. Those fiends. As for it getting too cold... just ask people how much Smoker zipped up the last two years in Luceti. Yeah no... he didn't. Even when he was a girl for a good portion of one of the winters. Shirts are for restrained people!]

No no, "weird" is a good word to describe the animals in my world too. We even have an island in my home ocean called "The Island of Weird Animals."

A kraken is a big sea monster with hundreds and hundreds of tentacles. They eat ships whole. Kind of like a giant squid, so they have a beak and everything, but way more tentacles and even bigger.

Ah, yeah - they've been here a long time, huh? I don't know all the things that have happened here for them, but I'm trying to learn what I can. They know so many people!!

Ummm, we played kuai ball there once! Asami and everyone set it up so we'd have the courts and the balls and things. I've never really been in it besides that, though. [ although in present-day Luceti she'll be going there pretty often for Pokemon training with Masaomi. ] Oh, and a few people offered to show me what their worlds look like in there! I guess you can program the things to look like places you know?

[ She grins back. ] I will!!

A trail? Like what? Don't most things disappear with people when they go? [ Most of her things had gone away, anyway. It had been mildly irritating at the time, although she got over it. ]

Pretty much! I mean, we didn't have sundresses as a thing people wore at home? It's a fashion thing from here, I think. Also, I worse the sorts of things I'm wearing right now - air acolyte clothes and colours! Temple clothes, you know? [ She's. Sort of a mini-nun, since all the air acolytes are technically nuns/monks. The dress code is relaxed to a degree, but she doesn't have a great deal of variety, back home. ]

An island named like that? What sorts of animals are there, then?

[ ...Note to self: file krakens under "never want to meet this ever" with rancor beasts. ] I think the biggest sea creature we have is the unagi, really...

Heh. Sounds about right. So I guess them founding a city is almost par for course for them really.

Kuai ball? Is that anything like baseball? And yeah, you can program it to pretty much anything you want I guess. [But Smoker isn't exactly the type to miss home. So he'd just try to program in extreme training exercises and screw it, if he wants it that much, he'll pick a fight with Luffy.]

Most of the time the trails would. But when I first came here without my memories, there were still a few people I'd met who remembered things I'd done. This time I set it up with that in mind. People who'd remember where I'd been, what I've done here, who I was friends with. It's an option in case I ever want it.

Air acolyte clothes. I see. Are they comfortable, or are sundresses better?

[A small chuckle. ooc: Also that should be "rare" animals, I keep getting it mixed up with the 3rd movie /facepalm] Weird animals. Tiger-elephants, platypus-sheep, poodle-ducks. I've never actually been there though, it's uninhabited except by animals -- [That he knows of, anyway.] -- so I'm mostly going off of rumors and what people have seen from the shore. The East Blue has some other crazy animal species though. Kaicho Pinkies and Big Birds are enormous birds that could basically eat a person. And I lived in Loguetown, so we actually got a few fish species from other oceans too every now and again.

Unagi?? Freshwater eel?

Ummmm, it's more like volleyball, I think! I've never heard of baseball. [ Ikki misses her home, but she also has a lot of home here, in weird ways. Family she'd lost or never known, family she knew but didn't know in the ways she's learning them here. It's...fun, really. And when she misses her parents and her siblings, she tries to focus on the people who are here. ]

That's true! I think even if someone went away and came back having forgotten me, I'd still want to talk to them and get to know them again.

They're comfortable! They both are, I mean. I just like how sundresses have swirly skirts if you spin!! And they're sort of better for some of the weather here, although it's getting colder now!

I think that's what it might be! Although this unagi lived in the ocean with the elephant koi. It's...reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally really really big. And angry. And big!

You've never heard of baseball? It's the only greatest sport ever. [Ikki you are a getting a ball and glove for Christmas and he is going to teach you the most epic game of catch ever.]

Exactly. I'm always a little worried if my friends have forgotten me, but so far most of them seem to think I shouldn't hide remembering them if I do. I've also gotten pretty lucky with it. Grell and Selphie remembered me just fine. [And Kohaku... didn't, but she was always a bit like that.]

Are the air acolyte clothes warm enough for winter? Though I guess if the "swirly skirts" is what you like, you could probably get something else like that.

Elephant koi, huh? Sounds interesting. And a little like a seaking. I wonder if they're related in some way.

Nope! It doesn't sound familiar. It's probably not a thing at home. [ Tony Stark will, in the future, promise to teach her own to play, though. And a game of catch with Smoker sounds pretty perfect. ]

I guess it doesn't bug me as much 'cause no one from my family remembers me, either? I mean, they don't have enough time to do that. [ Because of their younger ages, uh. ] So I'm used to people who I know not knowing me the way they're supposed to. And anyway, if you're friends with someone, that friendship won't be beat by something like not knowing you're friends!

Oh, yeah! We get thicker robes and stuff then. Air Temple Island pretty much gets a bunch of different kinds of weather. It's fun, 'cause there's snow and rain and flowers and sunshine, so you get everything!

I dunno! Maybe? They don't really do anything to people, unlike the unagi, though!

[Awesome. Smoker loves baseball.] It's the best sport ever. I'll have to show you sometime, you'd probably be really good at it.

[Grins in spite of himself.] That's a very smart line of thinking, Ikki. I think I'll have to try it myself.

Yeah, I do! I really like it when it's sunny and warm, but I also like the spring when things are growing and the fall when everything goes to pretty colours and you get to jump in leaf piles and then the winter when you can play in the snow! And I like the rain and how it sounds against the roof and I love love love windy days and I think all the days are really fun!!! What's your favourite kind of weather?

Ummm, I don't know! I think it would try? As long as you stay away from where it lives, I think you're okay.

Hell yeah, it is! [Don't copy his language Ikki. His other thing was going to be "Damn right" so either way... language. Katara should wash his mouth out with soap.]

[And he grins at that.] Actually I'm like you, I like all the weather. Well... I have to be careful with wind, smoke and all that, but I like rain and all the seasons. And even lightning rain and snow. This winter I'll make a snowman with you if you'd like. [He will also get into a snowball fight with her or any of the kids brave enough to take him on. BRING ON THE CHALLENGERS *_*]

Yeah, most of the seakings are like that. As long as you don't go in the Calm Belts or Grand Line, they won't usually bother you. They feed in the Grand Line though so that's always a hazard. And Calm Belts are the fastest way to get through the oceans, but luckily marines have a trick for that.

[ She is getting used to all these adults being allowed to swear, and might even stop tattling on them someday soon... ]

You mean wind can be bad for you? [ Curiously. She doesn't want to make him blow away or anything!! The curiosity changes into full-on enthusiasm at that promise, though. ] Really?! I'd love that!!! I'm really really good at snowmen! Even if I can't waterbend like my grandparents! [ She would so be there. Snow forts and everything. ]

More like dangerous. I have to be careful, but that's the case for anything, right? I have to be careful with seastone and ocean too, but I still sail and use my seastone-tipped jitte. You can't hide from dangerous things, just learn how to handle them.

And our trick is using seastone. It gives off the same energy as ocean so seakings can't tell our ships apart as easily.

Okay this winter, we'll make some really good snowmen and show them off to everyone. [And have a snowball fight! Smoker calls having Ikki on his side. Everyone else can fight them. Mwahahahaha.]

So your jitte has seastone on it? What would happen if it cut you?

[ Huh. The seastone explanation regarding ocean energy is sort of...weird, but it makes sense to the seven year old. Stone that pretends to be the sea, which incapacitates the devil fruit users! ]

I hope it snows really soon, then!!! [ Having an airbender on your side almost feels like cheating when it comes to throwing things. ]

It doesn't cut, it's blunt. Like a sword-breaker. But if I got cut with seastone I'd probably get another cool scar.

[Another grin!] Me too Ikki. [Well, they can fight Aang then so it'll be fine. Because having Smoker on any team is cheating. Unless the opposing team has Aokiji or Monet. That would be more cheating.]

Why'd you decide to use jittes instead of swords, anyway?

Non-lethal.

Jitte are extremely versatile for defense. They can block almost any kind of weapon and they can use your strength or flexibility for maximum effectiveness. The tine can be used to catch blades, or cause the most pain without maiming someone.

I think that's why they're my favourite. 'Cause they block!
