[Voice] Jitte, Self-Defense, and Executions

Hello New Feathers and old, I'm Cap-- Err Smoker. [Wow Proof he has done this message way too many times, he momentarily forgot his own rank. Woops. Not that it even matters here.]

I teach jitte, kickboxing, and basic self-defense outside the barracks, and it's open to anyone, no matter how inexperienced. As you may have heard by now, every so often the Malnosso take people at random for drafts, and while non-combatants have other opportunities to help support, any self defense can help.

For others, I wanted to ask about other world's or country's history regarding executions. Are there any that changed the world, or have other people here seen them personally?

Pretty much. And even then, for some pirates, so long as they're alive their crews will still fight for them.

It really seems like there is no right decision.

[His expression softens at that. Really it's what Smoker likes best about kids, and it should be noted: (despite being mostly obvious by now) Smoker really likes kids. Their innocent sense of justice, of always striving for right and wrong. Heck in some ways, it's what he likes so much about Tashigi.]

I'm not sure if I'd go that far, but... thanks, Smoker. [He's still not completely confident in his decision, but until he can see the after-effects for certain, he'd have to be.]

Having seen how well Ikki's turned out, your world seems to far more stable than it could have been otherwise. So you can consider that a marker I suppose.

You're right. In some ways, I'm lucky to know a lot about the future. Even though there was a crisis before Ikki came here, the world seems to be at balance or close to it now, without any more wars since the one I was in. She's a marker alright... if I think of hope for the future, then she is a living version of that hope.

[Awwww.... he can't help grinning at that. Really really can't. Watching half of the kids in his world gives him a headache worrying about the future state of their world. So far as he can tell, the war with pirates is just going to keep escalating until a possibly breaking point. But Ikki being so sweet and nice and Aang being a good kid for himself gives Smoker warm fuzzies all over. Well, as much as such a feeling can be used to describe anything Smoker experiences. Enough to warrant a grin anyway. For Smoker, that's a lot.]

I think she'd appreciate that too actually. There's a lot to be said for getting to see how the shape of decisions connect the past to the present or future.

[He's thinking about wars most, violent revolutions; but even on things like Aang's situation, it's really nice. The peaceful side is every bit as significant as the wars really.]
