ooc log because Shichi wanted it and I like logs

Who: Smoker, Allen and open to anyone interested in joining.
When: October 16th. Before or after the kickball so feel free to have to reactions/join in or whatever
What: Smoker and Allen drinking coffee, staring contest and then playing cards.
Why: Because Smoker hates General Cross and wants to prove he's not the same.
Where: Lady Justice's Deck. Docked at Shambun Island.

Smoker poured himself a cup of coffee and one for Allen. Tashigi was on rounds and he had the day free for exercises or whatever random thing he felt like. The town was mostly cleaned up from the month he'd been stationed there so it seemed pointless to wander around town looking for pirates. "Have a seat," Smoker gestured at one of the chairs set up on deck. "Coffee?" He was intending to confuse the recruit and throw him off balance. So far that seemed to be working.

Allen was spending half of his attention on screaming (in his mind) at himself for not accepting food when the offer came his way, but he did feel a slight flush creeping up his cheeks when he saw the... Interactions in front of him.

Allen fully smiled, and very innocently at that, directing it at Smoker for the first time since they met there. "What do you want to play, sir?"

No, that was not an evil/reminiscent glint in Allen's eye.

Allen's smile widened, just a little.
"Poker is fine with me," he mused, and to play things safe, he handed over the deck of cards to Smoker.
"The design is interesting," Allen said casually.

You'd better make a teeny timeskip or something D:

Allen left Smoker to reminiscent, taking the time to look at his features. Smoker had a gentle side, he knew, only he wasn't very good at expressing it, or just didn't want to express it.

Allen said "Three".

.... Same.

Allen caught the coin deftly, pocketing it whilst grinning ruefully.

The process repeated again, but this time Allen raised his eyebrows at the cards he fanned out in his hand.

The cheating promptly ensued.

Allen's face remained impassive and unreadable throughout the game as he felt his pocket grow heavier with each passing round. Admittedly, he had let Smoker win sometimes - but only so that the other Exorcists wouldn't find his dead body floating in the ocean.

Allen paused in this latest round to look closely at Smoker's face. Again, the overly dramatic image of his own dead body floating in the waters flashed through his mind. He grinned, however, and asked half-seriously, "Sir, are you alright?"

Allen laughed softly, and he could imagine what was going through Smoker's mind, minus the bit about Cross. Allen had no idea Cross had anything to do with this, even now. He began shuffling. Halfway through, he turned his gaze upon Smoker again and asked another question.
"When do you want to stop, sir?"

Allen shook his head quickly. He was merely worried about Smoker's wallet.

Allen took the silence as Smoker wanting to continue playing, and so he did, relentlessly cheating the whole time.
He suspected Smoker knew, and half of why he was cheating was just to humour him.
