Hello to New Feathers, and old.

This is Smoker, I teach jitte, self-defense, and kickboxing over by the barracks. By now I'm sure most of you have heard about the drafts that happen here, and it never hurts to be as prepared as you can be. Chun-Li also teaches lessons, particularly for beginners, but she can do private lessons too. If you want, she's also wiling to teach proper firearm use. No experience required, but if you have experience, we can work with that too.

For more experienced fighters, I've got a question for you. Do you make your own attacks, and if so, do you name them? And how do you decide on the names or themes in that case?

[Smoker's actually out early on the Thursday of the 22nd, getting in a few extra hours of exercise alone in the cold before anyone shows up -- hypothetically. He brought out an entire pot of coffee and he's got an extra empty cup next to his own, more out of a habit he doesn't care to kick than anything else. It's a few hours and well into morning before he's kidnapped, leaving behind only the coffee, jitte, and sunglasses. Lupin will be finding both sunglasses and jitte and holding onto the sunglasses. However, anyone's welcome to come join Smoker for coffee or exercise. After that, he'll be kidnapped for awhile. Good thing he mentioned Chun-Li also teaches, huh?]

Negative, caffeine does not have the same effect on Vulcans as it does for humans... and I have never consumed the substance.

[Spock has observed the curious 'addiction' that Starfleet students had for the liquid... and the most curious effects that it had on their systems. He would not condone the substance as 'safe'....]

Wait, what does caffeine do to a vulcan then?

[Smoker has a lot of questions. Almost always.]

[Spock gives Smoker an amused glance... he can recognize this level of curiosity.]

Indeed... the effect would be minimal if not non existent. Vulcans do not imbibe in the substance mostly because the flavour is said to be disagreeable to our taste sense.

Though I still wonder why it is you desire to know about my theories pertaining to the temporal paradox....[Not that Spock was trying to get to the point or anything....]

Oh. [Yeah, it's cool, his curiosity is satisfied.]

It's not quite the... err... time-space paradox that worries me so much as the black hole. [Rubs the back of his neck.] Of course if the black hole is what caused the paradox, I guess that's reason for concern too... but that's what, not why. Right.

There's a man in my world who has a devil fruit capable of creating black holes. Or rather, he himself is a black hole in a way. Infinite gravity. Darkness. [Smoker switches a hand to smoke as if to try to explain.] Devil fruits are strange sometimes, logia even more so.

However, Blackbeard is universally disliked by everyone from my world here in Luceti, but he's caused quite a few of them a lot of personal pain so I'd rather avoid discussing him in the open. Besides, he was here for a little bit, and you never know when someone might come back.

[Spock considers what was said for a moment... he has not heard of this 'devil fruit' before.. however, he can deduce its meaning from the context.

However...]

I understand your caution. Did he give any indication while he was here that he understood or resonated with a possible black hole?

[justicereigns]

[Rubs the back of his neck.] He is a black hole. A living breathing human that can take on the shape of a black hole as much as I can turn into smoke.

[spohkh]

[Spock tilts his head in confusion...

He was not aware that Smoker could do that.... nor did he believe it possible for a human being to turn into a black hole...]

Most... curious. That fact... opens up many other possibilities for our situation. [Spock's eyes drift for a moment, a thousand calculations running through his mind...

However, his curiosity gets the better of him...]

Would you be amenable to giving me a demonstration of your own ability?

[Switches an arm into smoke.]

I can change any part and then control how solid or not the aspects are. Wind's difficult to deal with though. And I try not to rely on it too often for obvious reasons.

[spohkh]

[Spock lifts a hand to experimentally run a finger through the curling smoke...]

That is most fascinating. [His voice was suspiciously close to awe...]

You are a very intriguing individual Mister Smoker...

[It feels like cloud!]

[And Smoker shrugs with a slightly derisive snort.]

Hardly. It's just a logia. The top three admirals all had one before.

[spohkh]

Still... it is most remarkable. [These abilities appear to extraordinary compared to his own touch telepathy...]

However, to get back to our previous discussion... do you think it possible that the entire world is the result of one person? That this phenomenon... whether it be black hole or other form... is a being rather than a space? [Spock was pondering the possibilities... he would need to run further tests.... ]

[justicereigns]

[They're flashier, but Smoker wouldn't call them stronger.]

[And Smoker rubs the back of his neck.] Not necessarily that your world was because of someone like him, but my world could be in danger... It's hard to say. He has two devil fruits now, and normally I'd say his earthquake one was a lot more dangerous.

But if the black hole that swallowed your world caused a time paradox, something like that could happen around him. As it was, he already ended one Era in my world and started a new one. And if he's defeated, that would cause another new era too.

[spohkh]

I see...

I can inform you of how we... destroyed the black hole in my Universe. Though it was through rather unorthodox means...

However, if there are others like yourself with these impressive abilities... I am sure you will be able to defeat him.

Don't count on it. His black hole neutralizes other devil fruit.

And he found a mean to steal them. Not to mention, he's the only person in the history of the world to have two devil fruits. Anyone else would have exploded.

[spohkh]

You believe this to be an no-win scenario? [Spock's eyebrows crease in a small frown....]

[justicereigns]

[Grunts.] No. But fighting him with devil fruit is impossible. And foolish, at best.

If he's going to be defeated it'll be with haki, ocean, or seastone. Depends on the Pirate Emperors more than the marines, unfortunately.

I'm concerned that such a fight might split the world, however.

[spohkh]

May I ask what you mean by 'split'? Do you speak literally, or of something on a national, political scale?

[justicereigns]

Literally.

As I said, the earthquakes devil fruit is not to be underestimated.

[spohkh]

This is... a most unfortunate situation.


My hope is that he does not make a reappearance in Luceti. [Spock considers something for a moment.... then assesses Smoker's face..] You are very worried for your... family, and your world correct? [Spock is not trying to sound callous... just trying to understand the emotions that are swirling around.]
