Hello to New Feathers, and old.

This is Smoker, I teach jitte, self-defense, and kickboxing over by the barracks. By now I'm sure most of you have heard about the drafts that happen here, and it never hurts to be as prepared as you can be. Chun-Li also teaches lessons, particularly for beginners, but she can do private lessons too. If you want, she's also wiling to teach proper firearm use. No experience required, but if you have experience, we can work with that too.

For more experienced fighters, I've got a question for you. Do you make your own attacks, and if so, do you name them? And how do you decide on the names or themes in that case?

[Smoker's actually out early on the Thursday of the 22nd, getting in a few extra hours of exercise alone in the cold before anyone shows up -- hypothetically. He brought out an entire pot of coffee and he's got an extra empty cup next to his own, more out of a habit he doesn't care to kick than anything else. It's a few hours and well into morning before he's kidnapped, leaving behind only the coffee, jitte, and sunglasses. Lupin will be finding both sunglasses and jitte and holding onto the sunglasses. However, anyone's welcome to come join Smoker for coffee or exercise. After that, he'll be kidnapped for awhile. Good thing he mentioned Chun-Li also teaches, huh?]

[After moral dilemma that the recent mission brought onto him, Lupin was glad to hear that bimonthly call for students that Smoker regularly sent over the journal feeds. The very thought of getting back to his kickboxing, and sharing a few smokes with the Marine, was a blessed distraction.

He needed them. Always.

It wasn't until midday that he reached the barracks, after a long night of drinking that was followed by a heavy sleep. The cold air was biting, but he needed to work on rebuilding his stamina. His trek would be well worth it before the end of the year.

The sight of the two coffee cups, the jitte, and the sunglasses were his first clue that something was wrong. Never in his entire association with Smoker had he ever seen the man without his jitte, nor without his sunglasses since his brief return home in the spring. Lupin's first suspicion was another such trip-- and the irritation at losing his friend to that chaotic sea once more tensed both his stance and his shoulders. He knew on a rational level that, since this was a new feather cycle, the odds were reasonable that Smoker would be back soon. That was the pattern the last time, and he had encountered similar occurrences.

However, the jitte and sunglasses were still in the village. His next thought was clear: abduction.

...after the prank with Robin and Law 'borrowing' Smoker's seastone cuffs, he understood the sheer value of the substance. Not only could it neutralize devil fruit abilities, it was also harder than diamond.

The jitte was at risk of being taken.

He flopped onto the chair in order to catch his breath. He needed to figure out how he was going to easily move the weapon...especially since Smoker had at least a foot and a hundred pounds on him.]

Greetings Mister Smoker. Vulcan combat styles have an array of names that depict the nature of the movement. I believe this is very similar to some versions of martial arts.

... Huh.. Smoker-kun, do people actually name their attacks? From what I've read, I thought they only did that in anime or manga series.. [ she's just as blank as ever, except in the way she blinks there's aaaalmost something slightly curious. ]

[She hadn't been planning to respond until she'd heard Chun-Li. Didn't Marco say she didn't like Marines? Robin supposed it was partly the principal of the thing. Smoker had no more power than Chun-Li did. But still... It's curious...]

[Combat lessons? Well, there was something he knew more than a bit about. Maybe he could be of some use, or at least pick up a few new tricks. Worth a shot, at any rate.]

Combat training? ...I suppose I could be of some use there. I was a colonel in the Imperial Guard, or I guess you might just call it the military here, so I know a few things about firearms. Might be useful to learn a few new things as well.
