[Voice] Jitte, Self-Defense, and Executions

Hello New Feathers and old, I'm Cap-- Err Smoker. [Wow Proof he has done this message way too many times, he momentarily forgot his own rank. Woops. Not that it even matters here.]

I teach jitte, kickboxing, and basic self-defense outside the barracks, and it's open to anyone, no matter how inexperienced. As you may have heard by now, every so often the Malnosso take people at random for drafts, and while non-combatants have other opportunities to help support, any self defense can help.

For others, I wanted to ask about other world's or country's history regarding executions. Are there any that changed the world, or have other people here seen them personally?

[Shoulda, coulda, next time you're gonna.] What's common, making a big deal about them?

[There's a pause on Ace's end, too.] Maybe another time. [He might get drunk on accident, and then things will really spiral down.]

That they exist. That not everyone accepts them as a means of punishment, that for rates they don't seem to work as a deterrent, and -- something I'm sure will interest you most -- they're commonly used to depose heads of state in that other world I spoke of.

[That last one definitely gets his attention.] If only that could happen in ours. I'd love to see Akainu's head come right off. Looks like people in that other world actually have brains.

[Sorry, he gets snippy about this topic.]

[Pssh. That's mild for what Smoker was expecting.]

Right. I'm trying to figure out how they got to that point.

[Well, he's just Mr. Serious McGruff-face all the time.] When you find out, tell me and I'll pass it onto Marco and Luffy.

[Because like hell he's going to let you kill Akainu.]

[And... Ace... Smoker never said he wanted to kill Akainu. GOOD GOD. How anarchistic do you think he is? He doesn't like him, but he still works for him! I mean jeez look at his options. People like Doflamingo, Kaidou, Big Mom, Blackbeard, and Akainu. It's all very lesser evils up in here, but no he doesn't think destabilizing the world is a good thing. At all.]

I'm sure Dragon is well on the way to trying to discover it himself.

[Oh sure. NOW he finds the tact. Well, if you can call that not-so-subtle sidestep of everything "tact."]

I sure as hell wish he'd speed it up. Even if he's already a little late for some people.

[Soft sigh. What can he say? That Marineford changed everything, not just Akainu becoming boss but the world's idea of justice and how to follow it? The Pacifista suddenly becoming a large role? Even if those things mattered to Ace, which Smoker doubts, they wouldn't help anything or change it.]

["Not everyone can be so rash." Tch. Sure as hell not not saying that. "These things take time." Not any better. "Yours isn't the only execution to change everything." And worse and worse.]

So then it's not executions you have a problem with obviously. It's just only acceptable for revenge?

[He tries to word it as carefully as Smoker can. Not an ounce of judgement in his voice, just an attempt to understand, tentatively searching for an answer.]

[Even if Smoker was trying to be careful, that still rubbed Ace in the entirely wrong way. He's going to try not to lose his temper.] Surprise, I actually hate executions. You get three fucking guess, and the first two don't count.

[Aaaand failing miserably at that.] Look, just because I chose to die doesn't mean I don't want Akainu dead. I'm pissed as shit for him killing me, and I want him gone. I won't even start on Blackbeard. Or did you forget the part where Whitebeard pirates get revenged for their nakama?

[Blinks, a little taken aback.]

[And quietly in return.] I remember the reputation, Portgas, that's why I asked.

You don't want Akainu dead? Because I'm fairly certain your crew do. [Just not more than Blackbeard he figures. Nor protecting... whatever they've been up to that he would know about.]

... sorry. [He has a lot of feelings about this.] And I'm pretty damn sure I said I want him dead. Hopefully before he goes after Luffy. Or my family. He's gonna be a thorn in the sides of everyone I love, and all I can do is sit back and hope they don't die.

If it's any consolation, he's also a thorn in the side of Blackbeard as well.

That I'm more than okay with. In a lucky case, I'd like it if they'd kill each other.

[Dryly.]

Unfortunately he decided to fight Aokiji instead of keeping on that trail.

Actually seeing their aftermath makes me wonder what would happen if you and I went full out.
