[This is a man who sounds pretty angry. Of course if you know Smoker well, then you might know he often sounds like that. Still, even for Smoker, clearly something's set him off.]

Welcome to New Feathers, if you haven't heard about the Shifts or Drafts yet, I suggest you look into it. If you want to learn basic self defense I could teach you, or Chun-Li could, or any of other teachers who offer it. Normally I'd offer to teach jitte as well, but I'm using flimsy knock-offs right now because some idiot seems to have borrowed it without permission.

[And here he gives a lethal glare to the camera.] I know a pirate took it before, and I've spent all this month hunting you down. I don't know who took it, but step forward now and I'll be far more lenient than if you continue to make me wait!

[His tone suggests that "lenient" means he'll only beat the thief half to death instead of two-thirds.]

I'll be by the barracks stacking rocks. [And making a snowman. Not that he's going to admit to that to anyone. Except kids maybe.]

[Smoker looks up from swinging the much shorter and flimsier practice jitte, and arches an eyebrow.]

Are you a New Feather? [Or is it just his usual tunnel vision that's made him ignore anyone who wasn't a pirate? Oops.]

[In any case, the armor is a little impressive, but the height doesn't throw Smoker for a loop, he's used to a kind of crazy world.]

Don't you feel shame, using that flimsy sounding term?

[his voice is deep, and he grunts that as he makes his way, warily, over towards Smoker. He was just going to go inside, but seeing a muscular man with a weapon of some kind possibly with stacks of rocks or snow around threw him off. As it is, he tightens his grip on Gorehowl and just stomps closer with wide strides in the snow]

Not especially, no. Otherwise I wouldn't use it.

Disgraceful. [Again, a growl. Still, at this, he puts Gorehowl into one hand and adjusts hos cloak]

[Snorts derisively and lights a fresh pair of cigars.]

You're only saying that because you're still green.

I've never been green in my life.

[In more ways than one. Now with the cloak adjusted, Gorwhowl gets a two handed grip again. His voice is still in forced calm, but the anger's busting at the edges. Already]

Good for you. So you were just born ready to face anything, huh?

I was born shortly before my people marched to war, the son of a great hero. I was raised on the plains of Nagrand, to see my world explode around me in my youth. I survived the demons and the elements and beasts of Outland, ventured to Azeroth, and faced Death itself! [As he says this, his fury's getting the better of him. He's taking several wide strides towards Smorker, and raising his ax]

Yeah. And now you're in Luceti, where you're a New Feather. Best get used to it, because you've got a month and a half to go.

[Smoker's not fazed... But this is the loose hound guy who continued barking snapping at the most wanted man in his world despite being severely outmatched. So you know. There's that.]

And despite your obvious strength, you are powerless! You stand around, calling people "New Feathers" and wait months with no results?! [This turns into a full on war, and he swings the ax.

Not at Smoker, just in the air - for the effect. Wind blows through the holes near the base of the ax's blade, producing the namesake both of the ax (Gorehowl) and his family (Hellscream): the sound it produces sounds like screams that promise pain and violence. It's supposed to be blood chilling or something]

[Snorts and takes the sunglasses off now to peer up at him.]

My goal has never been to go home. When you assume you know the situation for everyone it only exposes how new to the area you are.

[gorehowl]

What is your goal? To rot in this enclosure?

I'll get back home when I need to be there, and until then I've got prey to keep an eye on.

[gorehowl]

How feeble minded. What a waste of talent.

[Snorts.] I'm not interested in dealing with the Malnosso. If that's your concern, have fun with it.

The idea of wasting my time with something that will get reset just isn't worth it.

[gorehowl]

There is something which will not reset, you simpleton. Conquest.

I won't remember it, so yeah, it will.

Progeny will remember it, those who are taken next to this world will know your name when the new order is established, and those kin you have who might be elsewhere in this world, or waiting to be gained elsewhere in this world will know it. A true warrior does not think only of personal hunts or personal glory.

[justicereigns]

[Snorts and narrows his eyes.]

I'm not a warrior, I'm a soldier for justice. I'm a marine, and a pirate hunter. This world's life cycle is already skewed from what everyone was used to in their own worlds. There's no death because the world restarts it, though the Third Party sure seems inclined towards stopping that cycle. I'm not going to concern myself in an invisible war where there is no justice to be had.

[Justice? Ke...kekahahahaa] Justice?! The only justice that ought to sit on everyone's minds is a better future for everyone stuck in this world, and to shove a fist down the enemy's throat until the way home is clear? Pirates?! Death?! It's all immaterial in the face of victory!

Justice is all that matters anywhere. Whatever world or alternate timeline someone's in. It can't be forced down any enemy's throat.

Yes, human, it can. Justice is victory.

No, it's not. Justice doesn't change with the tides, it protects the weak, not conquers them.

[gorehowl]

The weak have no rights but to grow stronger or die. Azeroth is not so forgiving, and nor, from what I hear, is this world.

[justicereigns]

[His eyes harden.] No world is going to be forgiving when the people in them don't strive to create that justice themselves.

People are strong because we don't have to assume that every setback is the end of a career or a life. No one's born the strongest and the weak can't get stronger if they're killed from the very start.
